This has to be the most punishing, random, uncontrollable event there is. You have a choice of influenza spreading everywhere uncontrollably and making most of your provinces garbage or paying 50 admin and basically having a useless province for 10 years. Oh, and it'll pop up again in another province five years later anyway. It's also disproportionately punishing the smaller a country is.

Can you guys please nerf the hell out of this? It's just an infuriating nuisance and like most new/changed events is completely over the top.

Someone got hit by a bad MTTH, eh? :D

I got scheming bureaucracy twice in three years, I know your pain.
But 50 admin points once a run (if you take all of your runs and keep count) isn't as bad as you make it look.

Its not just once a run. There is a good chance that you'll get it twice in a month whike taking the 50 admin hit because of the AI not paying the 50 points.

Aww diddums.

No, that would be 'Hunting accident' and/or 'Heir falls ill'.

How is it likely to be twice in one month? The initial Influenza event has a MTTH of 50 years and the spread event has a MTTH of 3.75 years only in 8 dev provinces. And discovering a capital in the New World disables the initial event.

as small country you must let it spread... why quarantee as opm you dont gain anyting instead let others sufffer with you :D
Influenza can spread to an OPM but it can never start in a capital.

Wipe your tears and pay the toll.

eh.. Nobles plot as republic? -1 stab. Like a lot.

the heir dies is "a minor inconvenience" annoying comparatively.

How about all the damn negative events that happen if you are under 80 rep trad?

Did I mention the +1234% increase in upping your stab as republic?

The influenza insanity only really starts when you decide to not pay the admin. Pop ups, pop ups everywhere. And sadly it's not once a run, I keep getting this sh*t quite often and am then forced to pay or, you guessed it, pop ups

I bet this event happens easily 50+ times/run.

If you are blobbing near WC, it can and will happen hundreds of times (> 100 certain, maybe not 200).

The single worst thing about it hands down is that you can't just set a flag to "ignore" it and just eat the consequences. >100 popups of non-decision is not hyperbole. Forget twice a run, I've seen it twice in one month over a dozen times in the one faith run I'm doing.

You can make a case the modifier is too strong in game terms too, but that's a far secondary issue. Influenza right now is nearly as trash as "by fire" used to be for native councils before it stopped being constantly checked per province.

Paying ADM is a non-starter in the mid-late game. The hit to money is an obvious and vastly preferable alternative to losing a tech's worth of ADM, and the treasury can tank it without flinching. I don't need to see a non-decision hundreds of times. It's not a good event.

Last two games as Khmer I got it too often.
In first game I played I got it twice in 15 years taking away 100 admin points.
In second I got it three times in 9 years. 150 points in 9 years...
Some unluck maybe, but ffs.
