I have cleared it last time i switched mods. Maybe i should do it again. But other strange regions don't appear.

In my opinion you should build COT.

Why build a CoT, while my trade level is zero? I can't even send merchants! I rather save the money and build or take one as the game progresses.

Update 4: The Tripartite Pact (or "Meet the Iroquis")

Cores. Cherokee territories no longer possess the threat of rebellion. We also have now accepted Cherokee as a part of our culture.

Now little statistics:

We are not capable of doing... anything?

All territories are cores, less than half is cherokee culture.

And then some basics:

Stability +3, manpower 5,000, prestige is not bad. Looking good.

Our chief threw his life away, without knowing that we would soon discover something...

Iroquis! But their leader isn't Prawnstar... anyway, we concluded an alliance deal. The tripartire pact has born. Shawnee, Creek and Iroquis - standing against the colonist powers! (Well, or at least I and Iroquis do)

15 years later we discovered something. A new border had appeared.

Are there colonists? Soon we got our answer, three months later.

Oh yeah, Portuguese action I'd figure that you're pretty much in as good shape as you can be for the encounter.

Next update tells you that i'm more than prepared for it... but i can reveal, that my sliders are already corrected for westernisation... -3 centralisation/decentralisation, -2 innovative/narrowminded... only thing that is missing is a latin neighbor and a 6 or more administrative leader.

Update 5: The Three roads to Latin
Three months have passed since the soldiers of Creek spotted a wooden monster at the seas. The grievances between the Iroquis and Huron resulted in Iroquis funding rebels, eventually leading to this:

Shortly after that (1483), the portugues continued colonizing the coast.

Hey - We are now a neighbor of a latin nation! That means...

If only our leader would die...

Fortunately it took only one year for him to die. New one was good enough.

Now we can westernise. The first part converts us from New World to Muslim.

Now we just had to wait for stability to regain. Spending 200 two times saved much time, and we managed to recover it within two years. Next part covers our way from muslim to oriental.

This granted many opportunities: We discovered Europe.

We also finally made some progress with technology:

(I'm using all my funding on stability now, then after westernisations i'll focus on government to get my first NI)

Finding Europe revealed lots of oddities:

England conquering Norway and Sweden, Denmark apparently going for German unification (or preventing it).

Meanwhile Venice is on it's way to form Italy.

Now i almost had a heart attack: Our leader died. Fortunately the next one had sufficient administration to continue our path towards Latin.

1488, our stability is back to +3, and we're ready to take the final step.

Again waiting for few years. Nothing special happened during this time, except that the portuguese brought 15,000 soldiers to the region next to us. Luckily, they stacked all except 2000 men into a boat and sailed towards the white, endless sea.

Government reached 2, allowing noble republic and despotic monarchy. We also had a ND that we picked.

We are now a Despotic Monarchy, and no longer suffer from tribal succession crisises.

The integration of Shawnee was a sign for the world that Creek has travelled it's path to Latin and civilized world!

Now, a little vote:

Should i attack Portugal now, while they only have few regions in the coast (driving them away from the new world), or should we wait for a while (to increase tech levels, but they might expand)?

It seems that you caught a break with your rulers, but also were well prepared with everything else in place and money to accelerate the stab gain. Heh, sometimes it's best to be lucky AND good

I guess my vote is for waiting as well. Gaining tech, colonizing etc. is important now and it's not like destroying the colonies the Portuguese have now is going to be enough to drive them away from the continent permanently. And I assume that they own land close to you that is TI to you, so it could be suicidal to attempt to deny them the foothold. With smart colonizing, however, you could limit their expansion.

(If you actually have colonists, that is.)

That's the problem, i haven't got any colonists. But i could wait for gov lvl 4, then pick colonial ventures.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case with your religion and no COT. Difficult situation, as even the idea would have other uses, but I suppose you might not have a better option, especially since the Portuguese are capable of hauling over troops in numbers like that.

Well there's a few things you'll need ASAP: colonists, forts and a latin core so that you can start recruiting some decent troops but attacking Portugal could easily be suicidal.
