Interest in an Interactive AAR?

I just thought i'd see if anyone is interested in an interactive AAR? Would you like to see one? be part of one?

If so would you want it to be easy to be a part of (no writing on your part)

Or have it be more collaborative (you are either in character, or actually write part of the AAR)

Would you want it to be a sort of democratic AAR? (where you can vote for ideas)

Or more of a Staff AAR (where you advise as a staff member)

Want it to be something that you don't have to devote a lot of time to? or one where you want to devote alot of time to?

I have been playing the Democratic BAR (link in my sig) and it is a blast. I thought maybe something like that would be fun using Victoria.

So is anyone intersested?

I'd be interested in a staff AAr as the UK or Russia, to be in character.

I'd like a Staff-type AAR, maybe with a little in-character writing in our posts?

Maybe Prussia, or the USA.... or mighty Bavaria!

There are 5 of you that have said that they are willing to be part of an interactive AAR. 6 including me. I have noticed support for a staff type of AAR the most. Actually no other type has been mentioned.

In case some of you don't know, that would be where you as the participants, take the role of cabinet level ministers. directing, through the actual player, the area in which you are in charge of. For example, if you were the minister of the army/secretary of the army you would direct our armed forces, or set guidlines that the person playing the game would follow. The player would then report back every few years, or more often if needed.

I'd like to get some more people in, but we have a good group to start with.

So I have a few questions.

Is the Staff-type AAR ok?

In character? (make up a name for your minister and use it. it doesnt' have to be heavy on the roleplay, you can talk normally, just be in character)

Do you want to make some sort of option where if the person playing the game (will probably start as me) isn't doing as well a job that one can oust him and have someone else take over. This idea means that if you choose player C to take over as the president/prime minister(the person playing the game) then the ex [president will email the save file to the new president. This would require us all having the same version with or without mods.

Any other suggestions you would like to see?

After a bit of discussion I'll throw together an overview and see what you all think.

I don't want the ousting option. I'd be a good finance minister. I'd like to be in character.

Well then I will be the ruthless Minister of the Interior, with a dark secret, Baron Franz.

Think we should start and add more later as come? Or should we wait a bit to see if others are interested?

If we're playing as Prussia, I'll be the Chief of Army, or whatever Prussia called it.

Stefan von Alder, at your service, mein Koenig.

I figure that this weekend would be a good time to start, so I will try to get it going at that time, but there are a few things that we need to decide on.

I am playing VIP, latest version as it is an awesome mod. Plus it tends to lead to more historical results than vanilla.

I will not use any exploits, or cheat codes..even to neville to make peace with GB...(it can be worked into the story).

So we need to decide a couple of things.

First, Which country.

I have added a few to the current list of suggestions.

1. Prussia
2. Great Britain (remember india is controlled by british india in VIP)
3. Austria
4. Sardinia
5. Texas
6. Papal States
7. Other

Just vote on it by this "Country: XXX"

once we decide on a country I will list the cabinet level positions. These positions dictate what happens in the country. I will follow the lead of the Sec of the Army while I play, and I will do what the Sec. of Finance tells me to do. You aren't offering advice, you are issuing orders.
Also these are just suggestions, so don't pick a position yet, I'm just throwing this idea otu there.

Generally they will be the following or some variation of.

Prime Minister: Vacant at the start of the game, will be promoted via vote of the cabinet members. This person will have the ability to veto certain decisions of other staff. Upon the rise of this player, he/she will Appoint the foreign minister. The position of Prime Minister will be held every 5 game years. At the end of the term, there will be another vote from the staff on a new prime minister. A person cannot hold back-to-back terms as prime minister, but is not limited by the number of terms that they have held the office.( the problem with this is where will the outgoing PM go to? General Staff? the incoming PM's Position?)

Foreign Minister:This person is appointed by the Prime Minister and may hold unlimited back to back terms as long as he/she is appointed by the incoming PM. This player dictates all foreign policy. War, peace, trades(land and tech)
release sattelites. etc.

Sec. of the Army: In control of all land forces. In control of overall strategy for land forces.(ie, placement, composition)Can appoint generals to Armies or regional command. Can request the buiding of land forces, but the request has to be authorized by the sec. of Finance.
Generals: This is a position if we have more people join, the Sec. of the Army can appoint them to an army or regional command (the regions consist of 1 or more states) They are in charge of commanding armies that they are over.

Sec. of the Navy: Pretty much the same as Army except for navy
Admirals: Same as army.

Sec. of Finance: ?????

Sec. of the Interior: ??????

General Staff: for people who want to advise, or are just getting into the game after it has started.

More positions can and probably will come up. This is just an overview. Once it gets hammered out, I will post all the rules and such on the main game thread that I will start once we begin.

Please remember to vote for the country. And offer suggestions for other staff positions.
