Not sure if this the correct thread to ask the question in, but will Israel be included as a member of the Coalition of the Willing?

Yes, but maybe we can have a situation where they join later on?

heres an idea, when the egyptians DOW on isreal then the isrealies ask to join the alliance via an event, and then the us can chose to accept or decline. then the US will be able to attack via liberated syria.

Why are the Egyptians DoWing the Israelis, chances are, Israel would DoW Egypt, first? And if Israel DoWes first, they probably wouldn't get much U.S. support.

if there was a war between them, the egyptians would have to be the ones that provoke it, the US is isreal's only real ally and without them they would fall.

Who knows? Israel is a tad gung-ho, there is a slight possibility that they would DoW Egypt. Also, I don't think they would fall, they haven't in the past.

in the past, if isreal was on the verge of collapse the US would probably send weapons and maybe troops to help them, having the only democracy in the mid east fall would truly be bad for the US. if isreal DOW it would be because of some threatening document, assanations, military movements to the border, or something that egypt could prevent

Israel has, by far, the strongest military in the Middle East. They could easily defeat Syria, Jordan, and Egypt at the same time. In fact, they did once before. Hence the Palestine situation.

I honestly, though, can't imagine Israel not being allied with the US. Israel relies on the US absolutely, and the only reason they weren't involved in the war on Iraq is to avoid flaring up more outrage in the Arab world than there already was. Without US support, Israel would probably collapse.

Yes, all the things you bring up are very true. In the mod, we will probably have an event asking the U.S. if they want Israel in the CotW (U.S. alliance) or if they don't. If they do, it triggers an event asking Israel to join.

Sounds good?

Thanks!

I might suggest a few modifications to make the US and Israel appear "closer" before Israel actually joins the CTW.

1. US event: Aid to Israel. (gives large amounts of resources to Israel)

2. US Event: Protect Israel From Invaders. (in case war is declared on Israel, the US has the option of declaring war on the would-be invaders and intervening)

3. Israel Event: Knesset passes pro-US resolution. (move Israel closer to Democracy, reduce dissent)

These, I think, would be appropriate and will "simulate" a close US-Israel relationship without involving them in any wars until Iraq is done with. (At which point, an event should play. The AI probably should lead to Israel being in the alliance)

Yes, the leaders of the CotW will be the U.S., even though the U.K., Australia and NZ will be the other major nations in the alliance. Through events, countries like Spain and Poland and Israel will be able to join if they'd like to or not. I suppose any nation could leave alliance, even though I doubt that would be of any necesity (except for coup'ng situation :D)

Isreal isn't an offensive nation, their military is based on defence. They are also in an ever-going "civil war". I would think they would play on the tension between nations and finally defeat their arab neighbours in the West Bank (Event for Isreal?)

Yes, I agree. While the world is in a huge turmoil (war), Israel may be able to capitalize and defeat neighboring enemies (If the CotW doesn't already :D )
