its just not worth getting 15% defense platform. a more realistic number would be 25-50 where u can select to have different degrees of RNG of having a minor media campaign or full on gerrymandering

I think 200 is fine. It seems like a lot at first, but if you think about it, you actually gain quite a lot of bonuses for 20 years. There are time when no leader is really worth it, but there are also times where there's a good, young leader that you definitely want to win the election.

Sure, it's not a Dyson sphere, but you can only build one dyson sphere, so that's not really a fair comparison to begin with. Almost anything that costs influence compares unfavorably against a dyson sphere, except some of the other equally limited megastructures.

That's pretty much the democratic government.

I also feel like 200 is a bit much considering it's the same for dictatorial where you get the advantages for much longer.

in democracies you can spend more than 500 influence and still not getting the presidency. it might be even bugged, i suspect

that's why i switched to only playing dictatorships (and sometimes empires for rp). there you've got full control over your successor almost for free
