Great thread. Sorry to be dim, but what exactly do you mean by turbo-annexation?

If your enemies governemnt fall during the war you get all the provinces you control.

A qucik way to grow in size and a huge exploit before the 3/province was implemented

The goverment fall when more than half of the country in question is in rebel hands not counting provinces currently under foreign control

Thanks. I knew about the government falling thing, just didn't know it was called turbo-annexation, and certainly didn't know that it gives 3BB per province - ouch.

I for one am displeased at the 3 BB per province turbo-annex rule. I certainly understood the initial justification, which was to prevent people from causing government collapses as an exploit.

But I don't understand why your should get more BB by taking provinces this way than any other way. Why shouldn't it be comparable to taking the provinces in a ragular land war - 1 or 2 BB?

You don't know how annoying this can be when you have your enemy's government collapse by accident and you're suddenly hit by a crippling BB total. I'm now at the point where if I'm in a substantial war (where I want to get a significant peace score) I'm forced to chase down my enemy's rebels to prevent a government collapse.

I feel your pain, Barrister Boy.

At least once I've gone from tarnished to dishonourable scum completely by accident, precipitating a bad boy war that wouldnt have happened even if I annexed every province in the offending country. The worst is when you have CB shields on the provinces, and you get stuck with the provinces in a turbo-annex. Thats 3 BB per province when they should be free... Arg!

I agree that the penalty should be reduced to 2 BB, just like normal annexation. That makes complete sense and prevents this game feature from being exploited.

If its one thing people tend to forget is that government collapse is in the game for a reason. Its intended as a feature that prevents countries from refusing peace deals continously when there is no hope of rescue. (Hence the stability loss for refusing reasonable peace offers as well). Penalizing people excessively for making use of government collapse prevents them from using a good strategy that has historical basis: invade the enemy when they have internal problems. As it stands now, I'd refuse to get involved in someone's civil war simply to prevent a horde of extra BB that I dont need.
