Hi, all.

I have noticed that I never ever use certain types of divisions, as an example militia to mention one. Due to this, the idea to change the attributes of the militia-division to make it more into a misc.unit (of about brigade-strenght) but keeping the way one can use them in the game.

I would for instance like to have the feature to build and deploy ordinary infantry-brigades (of course with lower values than infantrydivisions etc). I personally find it somewhat disturbing, and ahistorical, to see the game build divisions which I know where no where near division-strenght etc, and would rather build militia-divisions (editted to brigade-strenght, and with lower suppression, off/def-values) and then manually renaming them (which is acceptable). I would imagine that this is done by tracking down the stats dealing with militia-divisions, and then edit them as I see fit. Correct?

Question nr 2: Since I intend to turn them into multi-purpose brigades, I obviously wish to change the picture, replacing it with something more suitable. What size am I to use on the new pic, and where to I find the old pic and where to place it?

Or would it be possible to add a new type of division, without having to remove and old one?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, you simply divide all combat stats by 3.

..\gfx\interface\models\

You could add your models in militia, but the AI always builds the highest available model, so the AI would not be able to build militia and your brigades, just one of them.

Thanks for replying, I think that I will dare to start to fiddle around with it now. How ever, I came to think about one thing - it shouldn´t be a problem to be nation-specific about this i.e. only changing these things in a couple of nations?

Ah, I see thanks.

Concerning uploading new picture. I will have to upload/save any new pictures in a special HoI2-folder, before I connect the "new" unit with that picture, correct?

Example: Pic saved in folder A, division-info found at folder B. Folder B pic-info have to be drawn from folder A, so that both folder work together?

You add militia models, e.g. 3 to 5, then you need to add in that folder ..\gfx\interface\models\

model_11_3.bmp
model_11_4.bmp
model_11_5.bmp

the game will use those pictures.

You also have to add to ..\config\unit_names.csv

lower part, your models, otherwise the game can't use them. And put the new models into "militia.txt". Add

model = {}

for model 2, if you want to keep that blank and then resume with your new ones. Last but not least, do you have to activate those models in a tech.
