I decided "right, let's get Poland Can Into Space".

Of course, this means finding things to do for 376 years.

I have reached the 1570s. Russia is allied to the Ottomans. Austria got the early PU over Hungary, so I allied them because I needed a counterweight (AI Lithuania had some serious troop-handling problems leading to serious budget-handling problems in the early game).

India beckons, I suppose - I managed to build a province chain along the south side of the Caucasus - but first I have to province-snake my way through Iran.

Suggestions?

You could go around and see how many rare formable nations you can coax the AI into forming. I love seeing the AI form rare countries.

No idea how you let that happen, what you should have done is vassalized Novvy, ate muscovy with it, vassalized Byz, ate ottomans with it.

anyways keep austria happy with you, when you become a monarchy you should PU them.

Become pope, declare crusade, and call austria in (and bohemia perhaps if possible, or someone big like that (or bigger), mamluks would work). During war focus on getting Moskva and white peacing muscovy, then destroy the ottomans 3v1. Only fight the ottomans if austria is nearby unless you took some military ideas.

While you do that try to reach persia area for india (vassalize whoever got most cores and reconquest), grow towards genoa or grow through sweden towards the english channel, your call.

you are right around the corner of both, you dont need no cb
You don't have a border, so even if you mark provinces "vital interest" you are at the mercy of your subjects making the right decisions regarding the deployment of their diplomats.

Scandinavia is your best bet. Get that good Baltic Sea node and slowly move into Lubeck, then try beat down the Russian-Ottoman alliance. You'll be large enough by then surely.

I just played until I was bigger then Ottos and went for speed 5.

Going for the achievement and enjoying flavor events, but that stuff mostly ends around 1650.

Not much to do after that and not much need to expand unless you wanna WC it. The whole micro will just go on your nerves.

if they are your only vital interest and you set as hostile/dom theyll get to work,
Eventually. However, where the race for Thrace is involved, waiting on your vassal getting its ducks in a row is not an appealing prospect.

I ran a small test, setting Constantinople as Vital Interest, in a game where the Blobbos got Southern Greece as their first mission (so no immediate claim on Constantinople).

The Blobbos fabricated on Constantinople before Moldavia did, so...
also what is seize province
... this is a much more useful response that would probably have been a better starting point. Thank you :)

Try to get in war with some of their minor allies and then break their alliance, then ignore the ottomans and push east to reach Ming for some interesting wars. Meanwhile Ottomans should blob enough to keep you entertained. You could have it worse, in my PLC runs Russia usually allies both Ottomans and Kalmar Union.
