Nice turn of events. Before I went on a holiday the allies were still struggling in Italy and things didn't look that bright. Now that I have checked the progress of this AAR, I see Italy conquered and secured, Germany 50 divisions poorer, Denmark restored, Vichy France out of the war and people are already discussing the shape of post-war Europe!

Talk about turning the tide! Just wow!!

As far as the poll goes, I guess the option of liberating the Baltic states, Belarus and Ukraine and installing a democratic Russia seems plausible. Anyhow do as you wish, but kick some German ass.

I vote for B and B; it would be interesting to also liberate Soviet republics such as Ukraine but I think that would constitute a highly provocative act against the Soviet Union that would go against the otherwise prevailing philosophy of pre-war borders, but democratic governments. Violating the first tenet to enforce the second should only be done if you're going to march all the way to Sverdlosk to enforce your plan.

LM+: ....In HSR, the German surrender events fire after Paris, Berlin, and most of Germany is controlled by someone else (either the Allies or the Soviets)...

Question #1: How to handle the surrender of the Axis?

Option A: Accept the German surrender. Conquer all of the Axis minor hold-outs by hand and only then remake the map of eastern Europe.
Option B: Accept the German surrender. Assume the negotiated surrender of all other Axis with very roughly pre-war borders (cancellation of all their gains but no added penalties).
Option C: Refuse all surrenders and conquer everything by hand.
Option D: (fill in blank here)

Question #2: What to do with Russia and the Soviet Union-that-was?

Option A: Conquer the place, with or without RUS boosts to make things more interesting. This option is off the table. Russia's suffered enough and I absolutely refuse to conduct another invasion. This leaves us with...
Option B: Divvy up the lands of the former Soviet Union using roughly modern borders, with the exception that Poland, Czechoslovakia, Finland, and Romania will keep what they had pre-war.
Option C: Give everything (or almost everything - mention any exceptions) to the Soviet Union.
Option D: (fill in blank here)

first, IRL the Soviet Union did not suffer defeat. therefore, in this TL it is not plausible to suggest that the Soviets/Russians should have any of the conquered land back.

A1: D Accept the German surrender. Assume the negotiated/conquered surrender of all other Axis with ethnic borders for each country. also, make all conquered Soviet land into free states, especially the Baltic States, but not limited to them.

A2: B modified to give Finland Karelia (Leningrad), Murmansk, Archangelsk, Segezha, Kola, Mezen, and its cores (i.e., anything that is closer to Finland than the above provinces - this would make the White Sea a Finnish Sea. :D ) [ i would not object if Finland received Vytegra and more as well ! ! ] also, give to Germany Danzig and the 2 border provinces south of Danzig, but give to Poland East Prussia.

where any conflicts occur with the above, either just choose or flip a coin/toss a die. :D as long as you win, anything else is secondary! ! :cool:

Wow.

That was the most enjoyable AAR I've read since Peter Ebbesen's WC Timurid AAR.

Absolutely fantastic.

I don't feel qualified to even vote in terms of direction, but as a fan, I would love to see the AAR come to a conclusion where The Entire World is at peace, regardless of how that outcome occurs. It would give me closure on a great piece of alternate history.

I say do not give anything to the Soviets, why would you want to give power back to a genocidal government? Make a free states out of the territory that it once held. Also I suggest giving Germany back her old lands under the FDR and Poland back her lands from prewar boundaries.

Why give Germany back her old prewar lands? Because I do not see it is fair to the German people themselves to be deported from their home lands like what happened in real life.

I have a better sugestion for you...

Let this AAR be more realistic... I thought and thuoght what could Germans do in such situation... And i got one idea... they need their hands untie in east so they set up a puppet nationalist russia and sends its troops to west to deal with allie threat.

Germany is still alive. you shuold help them act properly... They couldnt hold russia in such situation and I believe they would give away its controle to any real nationalist power wich they could not controle but couldnt do anything about it...

Also Ukrain and cuacasians shuold reborn as they wants independence, they are to far for germans to handle so they reacive it from Germans... but National russia shuold dow them wanting pre WWI russian territorys (russians still want that even in present days, that would come naturaly in this situation). SU dows Nat russia. and fun begins... Give Nat russia a proper number of troops, to stay alive... lest see SU has around million men... Well i belive 50 inf and 100 militia units would do. As they shuold get more industrys then soviets. Nat Russia that is... Also 20-30 mil units for ukrain and some for caucasian states... some native soldiers from former German army and volontiers.

leave poland and Baltic states to to Germans. It is closer and Germans would have colonised thouse lands by 1947 also they still would want to have a bufer bewean Russia wich falls into civil war...

And there you have it a full German march to western to meat you and a mixsedup civil war situation in Russia...

this would be realistic... WERY realistic...

This way this AAR wouldnt end so soon...

Reload as Germans puppet Ukrain Caucasian states and in the end russia (give Belaurus to Russia) No need of any editing of thouse countrys...

Then make event to give Russia Ukrain and cuacasians their armys... And then make a Russian civil war even.

I think Germans will redeploy its troops...

Dont cross the reims before that. PLEASE... you want chalange dont you?

This AAR made my download HSR and GIP and play with some countrys agains Germany... But with wich one... I guess poland is out of the question. France too... I want to fight Germany like Brazil...

Wonderful AAR dont let it end so soon. We want drama of German reich fall not a quick march into Berlin... Dont we... Or i dont know maby this AAR has gone to long???

If LM+ decides the SU should re-enter the war, without just springing up out of nowhere, liberated Allied Governments in every German Occupied land, then I'd bet the Soviets reach the Caucasus first. (Unless Turkey decides to join the Allies and allow the Bosphorus to be transitable.

Quick comments -- no update:

My apologies for the continued delay in updating this AAR. I've been working up a mod for HOI2 for quite some time now and have spent almost all my recent free time on it (debugging and stability testing mostly). While I honestly think that it will give players enough fun value to make up for the slowdown here, my cobras - and you! - need some attention too.

Expect replies to the points brought up above and then gameplay updates next weekend. Sorry again for the delay!
