Speaking of which please give us your thoughts on the new tech calculations in vanilla. I don't need to hear about missing cultures, crashes or the inability to take ideas. I'm aware of all these issues. I just want to know if people are satisfied or not with how the converter assigns techgroups now. Also please don't convert straight from 769, it should be a save already in progress.

From the few times it's been mentioned on the forums so far (I think many people are holding off on converting until AoW is released), the new system doesn't seem to be much of an improvement. One comment I recall had someone mentioning how India was overwhelmingly Western, while parts of Scandinavia were Muslim or even Chinese (!).

Of course, this is hardly enough data to make an informed decision on. I think we'll have to wait until AoW is released and more converted games are being played in order to make an even semi-accurate assessment of the new tech system.

Hi! So I know that I've been MIA for awhile. I'm really sorry about that. The amount of work I was doing for this mod compared to the time I was spending playing games lead to me getting seriously burnt out. With AoW and Charlmange having changed so much about the game though I'm looking forward to getting back into converted games. If you guys are willing to take me back I'd love to help bringing things back up to date.

Regardless I give RageaiR and Cthulhu full permission to disseminate and modify any of the stuff I've written in case I disappear again.

Let's take AoW for a spin before we update the mod - we need to know the features to do proper work anyway! :)
Not to mention that we don't have the converter update for AoW yet.
Absolutely just thought that I ought to check in and let you guys know I was on board for the next update. :) I'm looking forward to giving AoW a spin. It looks so good.

One thing we should be thinking about when we're playing around in AoW is autonomy levels. Getting nice initial settings for province autonomy levels is probably going to require a little tinkering.

Well, see what the official converter does first-.I'm pretty sure Denmark started off with no autonomy across the board in the first game I've tried, so it might not be a huge problem to set them all at 0%. We'll have to see.

Yeah, but Denmark is an exception to the rule. Most provinces in the world seem to have some level of local autonomy. Of course that makes Denmark a good case study of the type of county that should have low autonomy. The only provinces in the Denmark start with autonomy are the Swedish cores which have a tiny 2% each.

So looking at the map a few observations about local autonomy.

Hordes all seem to have 25% autonomy everywhere except their capitals.

Any province with foreign cores on it seems to often have higher autonomy, although there doesn't seem to any reliable trend to how much more autonomous they are.

Any province with a different culture even accepted cultures often has 10% or so more autonomy.

Overseas provinces are often around 10-25% autonomous, of course they are also often the wrong culture so that needs to be taken into account.

1 base tax provinces often seem to be pretty autonomous, but there are exceptions.

Generally 30-40% is as bad as it get anywhere except for a few extreme examples.

The Hansa has really high autonomy in its provinces.

Anyone seen any interesting patterns?

Is this the same mod on Steam? That mod is suddenly gone from Steam now, and I was hoping to use it down the road for my planned megacampaign.

It does?!! Lol where is it hiding because I can't find it anywhere on this forum.
It is not up to date, but it was maintained by zeress that plans to update it for AoW. The Ancient Religions mod inclueded in CK2+ also has it's own converter maintained by Ordenpm, the person who does the HIP-converter.
