Saxon --> Anglo-Saxon (in the British Isles region) and Saxon everywhere else
Frankish --> Dutch (in The Low Countries region), Franconian (in German region) and Frankish everywhere else
Suebi --> Galician (in the Iberian Peninsula region) and Swabian everywhere else
Frisian --> Frisian
Visigothic --> Visigothic (in the Iberian Peninsula and French region) and Gothic everywhere else (Make our own, and once Art of War comes out link it to the vanilla EUIV Gothic culture)
Lombard --> Lombard
Pictish --> Pictish
Ilmenian --> Slovenes
Severian --> Serbian (in Serbian region), Severian everywhere else
Volhynian --> Ukrainian (in Ukrainian region), Volhynian everywhere else
Somali --> Somali

Not really sure about the "proto-Russian" slav groups, they're very un-google friendly and I wonder how Paradox even chose those three.

I just converted the game from 769 and found following in EU4:

Altrought the following cultures are converted to no-culture: Frisian, Ilmenian, Severian, Volhynian and Pictish (http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?806313-2.2-Converter-DLC-Missing-cultures).s
I was looking at the culture_table.csv rather than in the common\cultures folder. It seems that it's far more important to have things there rather than the culture table. Vanilla cultures don't seem to need anything at all.

So Lombard does convert with the normal converter? I am doing a Lombardic Sicily playthrough in CK2 and I want to convert later.
Yes, the vanilla converter converts Lombard. Although I'm probably going to have them convert to a different culture than vanilla Lombards since CK2 Lombards are extinct by 1337, same with the Saxons.

Kansai-kun has created a very good thread detailing all the problems with the vanilla converter at the moment. I'm finding it very useful.

Frankish already has events to turn into Dutch in CK2, so I don't think it should be converted to Dutch if it survives.

Visigothic should convert to Visigothic, in the Iberian group. EU4's Gothic will be pretty specific to Crimea and will be in the Byzantine group presumably so it's not really fitting.

Since Serbian exists in CK2 it'd be weird to export Severian as Serbian too.

But technically wouldn't they be the same people? Just latinized? And not to be cross, but what if I want an alt history where the Germanic Lombards still exist? :D

I'm just referring to the default 1337 scenario. It gives me a good reference to how CK2 and EUIV correlate. My current plan is that if you end up with an alt history where the Germanic Lombards still exist you'll convert with an alt history where the Germanic Lombards still exist. :)

Will the CKII Lombards be converted as Langobards or will CKII Lombards convert to Lombards but the converter changes it to a Germanic culture group?

Langobards. That's even the name I'm using. Speaking of which does anyone have a better name than 'Old Saxon'? (Sahson?)

Sahson was the Old Saxon (language) name for the Saxons (people). It seems the most accurate.

Although, frankly I'd prefer the use of the term Old Saxon since the German "Sachson" isn't being used for the Saxons in EU4, and it wouldn't be too far off since there are Old Prussians.

Incidentally, is it possible to just load this mod when you're about to do a conversion, or do you need to have it enabled from the very start of your game that you want to convert?

From what we can gather from the developer diaries, what are the new titles (and the old) from CK2 that will convert to the new tags in EU4?

Does this converter change how vassals are converted? Are powerful dukes converted into vassals, and multiple kingdom titles with different succession laws into personal unions?
