I'd like to thank everyone involved in making 1.2 happen. I've enjoyed playing the beta, and am overall quite impressed with the current Imperator.![]()
The “Cicero” update to Imperator: Rome makes a number of dramatic changes to the core game, letting the player focus on political consequences and imperial governance instead of waiting for numbers to grow. Provincial populations can now be nudged towards assimilation, but are mostly autonomous in their preferences. Provinces themselves can be developed along a range of settlement sizes, according to your priorities and wealth.
The political and military games have also been enhanced. Advisor loyalty will affect how flexible you are in meeting new political challenges, and balancing the competing factions in your empire will be important in new ways. Your armies must gain experience in order to adopt new traditions, but that might mean risky wars or expensive drilling.
In all, “Cicero” is an attempt to see if new game design ideas can work in one of our favorite settings.
If whichever distribution you use has automatic update then it should automatically update.Hello, how do I download this. Or does it automatically update?
So-o-o.... Still no "continue" button, right?
Missing the point.Except for the Resume button in the launcher and the Continue option in the game. Sheesh.

Great update, but seriously Paradox why have you removed Egypt from the greek traditions? Egypt was rulled by Ptolemy a macedonian general, and nearly his entire army was made by greeks and macedonians who fought in the Phalanx style. Even when they started to recruit some natives they trained them in greek warfare, this change is pointless and anti-historicall, so please tell me why such an horrible choice was made?
Another feature that is missing is naming your children. RIP Biggus Dickus dreams.Like on release and every upgrade or beta, cant stand the game for more than 5 mins, usually when i right click on a country flag and nothing happens...
The reason is still the same : we cant tell the game from wich country or character we would like to hear about or not . Leaving us between having no intel at all or being spammed by every nation on the map.
I still dont understand why this feature is missing. Its a basic quality of life feature for any decent strategic game wich you already developped for all your other licences.
I was ok with the messages settings being still barebone and boring to configure but at least offering a precise and rich intel experience, but in IR we cant even use it.
Plz just let us !..
Sorry but HAve you added Fog of war for the map Revelation and Unknown land covered as well?![]()

- Deeper Province Management
- Develop settlements in the provinces, founding new cities or establishing great metropolises at the center of your empire
- 17 unique buildings to enhance provincial wealth and capabilities
- Population development, migration and conversion now happen dynamically
- Food may be stored in a province and depleted over time. Save grain for a coming crisis or starve an enemy into submission.
- Challenging Political Game
- Monarch power replaced by Political Influence, a store of value based on the loyalty of your advisors. Ruler skills now affect national capabilities, not specific actions.
- Each form of government must consider trade-offs when passing new laws. Republics must consider the balance of their factions, while Monarchies risk pitting generals against governors.
- Greater variety in nations
- Unique national heritages for each culture, reflecting historic strengths and priorities
- Unique inventions for many nations
- New events and flavor interactions, many tied to the nation you are playing
- New Ways of War
- Revamped the military traditions available to each culture
- Unlock these traditions with Military Experience, which can be earned incrementally or through combat and peace time drilling.
- Changes to the AI promote conflict between the non-human controlled nations, making a more dynamic and dangerous world, especially in the endgame.
Are you kiding me? They were in power untill the roman conquest, Cleopatra was the last of the Ptolemaic dinasty. The Ptoleamaic Army was a greek one with Phalanx and heavy cavalry like the one of Alexander, the Ptolemies set up military colonies and encouraged greek settlers to settle in them, the kleruchoi, as they were known, would in return be obligated to provide military service. Only near 1 century after the game start date they starte to recruit egyptians in the army, the so called Machinoi, that were trained to fight with pike in Phalanx formation. How many centuries did Ptolemy and his men lived ?

Why not give yourself a goal? I do that, makes the more enjoyable like at the moment I'm playing in Sardinia and planning on fighting Carthage for control, gives me a goal and its also a challenge.
