How the hell did you get Krakow to 15th in just 2 years?!:eek:
Got you replicate this success for Serbia? I would love to play as Serbia:)

I did manage to make Lübeck a GP in just the time of researching two technologys from the culture tree.. I was the first one to get them both. It was ranking catapult.

Little Lübeck a Great Power.

Please gimme a full name, i dont intend broswing whole world map to check any small country matching the initiales. Thx. :)

c'mon, at least say why comparatively to Krakow/Zulu/etc. lets get some insights in here :)

Nah, i dont feel like i have a real right to it.
In current state its very easy in Vicky2. If you are a small state, get in SoI and use their protection, while grabbing some land small from independent states..
Basically, you got two choices:
1. "weakling style"
Make the first grabs just to keep your BB under 25, while diplomatically staving off dangerous neigbours. rinse and repeat whole game... With only challenge to keep under 8 GP status so to keep SoI protection...
Pretty Boring IMHO

2. "Jingoistic style":
Basically the same as first, only your challenge is to balance conquest with power rise, so as to get great power AND to be able to fight off others no matter your BB.. after a while, no one dares to oppose you... (my Zulu game)

So playing geopolitics is boring and "cheating"?

well, in Vicky2 sadly YES.
- economic model is bogus (and i love PI and vicky2), swimming in money and maxing all sliders out and then watch the map is supposed to be fun? Once a year to change research satisfy you in any meaningful way?
- political part is the same, what EXACTLY you can do in diplo/political field in SoI?
- ugh, dont forget that lame points system in ranking, thats some sick stuff :D

- i could go on, but i think the point is clear, managing POPs, Economy,Politics or Diplomoacy is non-challenging in Vicky2 1.1.

If you really wish to challenge yourself, why restart?

I do not think there is a nation that a well-played campaign (and maybe a bit of luck) can catapult into GP status - this is WAD and intended however. What fun would a game be if you were prevented from being successful in the end?

It is all a matter of taste, but my least successful campaign to date was Texas; I might go back to it after Patch 1.2, but under pure vanilla 1.1, I do not think I possess the skill to take it to the top with them.

Interesting perspective. I found several things you did in your Krakow campaign to be quite gamey - but again I am not being critical of your game-play style. I do find your qualifying them as "disqualified" not to be accurate, but that is just me.

You shall not buy me with your extremist flaterry dear Sir!
But seriously, if u consider scouting a map for proper targets, then planning an attack (preparing supplies, training army) then declaring war, attacking and winning a some sort of MIRACLE on GODLY scale (all-knowing,with oracle-like capabilities), i fear to imagine how low are your standards for a human?
Should I be debilitated human wreck with intelect of GWB or what?
Please explain what part of my strategy involved future-telling and/or all-knowing, i am really at ends with possible explanation :)

ADDED:
Also, SoI didnt saved me from containment war from Papal States, Austria backed off of me from that war. But how if i (unlikly) loose should i be stopped by the weak containment war conditions?
They are working more for ME than for them (cheaply bought truce time with no territory loss) even if i loose.

Off the hat at your pic glance analysis:
The challenge i can see here, is to get enough Military Access threaties so you can get to your targets... Sadly, that will probably shield you against ANY enemy Too.
Also, all ENGLISH SoI countries are gamey as hell - NO ONE EVER declares war on English SoI country, you can have BB over 100 it makes no difference.. :(
So this one can probably go off the list straight ahead.
Or just disprove me enough to get me play & prove it :D

Well, tehcnically, it isnt. same as Zulu are not at beggining. BUT: as they border GP, they will get fast IP and sicne there is no OTHER GP to balance it out... it is safe to say, that in few years it is in british SoI, just use all diplo points to stave off Britain's attack till you are in its SoI :)
Seems easy enough.

I now gave few tries with Abu Dhabi, now this is mighty fun with 26k population spread in 4 provinces or so... :)
Have problems conquering Oman though. Was soo close once :D

Great Britain is the hardest. I constantly find myself being defeated by the dreaded Montenegro-Hawaii Alliance within the first 20 years.

Just to let you know: i returned to that Krakow game, facing so far 4th containment war in as many months (BB was 27 after 1 conquest & 1 state acquisition) (Papal States, France, Russia, Sardinia-Piedmont)
Its fun so far, i might even try to to push for Poland Unification.. :p

Try playing as Abu Dhabi as they have stronger neighbors and a pitiful population.

I'm gonna try Abu Dhabi for my next game after USCA. They have a lot of potential and I don't think it would be too difficult. I think I would first take out a bunch of loans and go after Madagascar

As i spent quite a few days on Vicky2 play, i found it to be not very challenging even for small backwards countries..
As a matter of interest, how many times did have to reload until you got 'just the right result' (again and again) or edit files. Basically, if you reload or tamper to avoid something 'bad' or to get something 'good' then the game has beaten you. If you did reload quite often then the game might be more challenging than you assert.

lol @ thought i was cheating and then bragging about and pretending i didnt...

As i said, i restarted the camapaign few times, til i completly assesed situation and developed a most efficient plan.
I also reloaded few times, but mostly because of the broken ranking system which force you to gain INSANE point in military score if you had to spawn several commanders to get the good one...
And if you read my latest comments, i continued my Krakow game, cause it turned out to be MORE CHALLENGING than originally thought.
Any more questions/assumptions to clear up? :)

Also, beggining of my Zulu game was lucky, i already stated that in several posts - though mostly it was about diplo-influence and timing of wars WHILE the dangerous neighbours were fighting their own wars..

Because I read Vaximillian's comment,I'm playing Gwalior now.
It's actually quite easy! No need of cheat and reload.

When been SoI of Britain,I DoW on Siam to getting Siam Singapore(2 provinces.Kota-Bahru and Aror-Setar).Then callally on Britain few times until succeed.
British army automatically conqer Siam and I got 2 provinces.

Then made 3 infantries and a trans fleet in there.Conquer Aceh,Brurei,Bali and Cambodia(No need to British support).lastly conquered Karachi,I got to civilized and soon in secondary powers.
My infamy is 110/25,but no one DoW on me.:p
