Hello, Today I will be showing potential provinces, reasoning and why the next european update should add them, starting with the lowlands region. I will be covering more regions in the future so stay tuned.
I first want to start with my crudely drawn map of the netherlands In-game as I would want to see it in the next 1.30 update.

(please enlarge the lower picture to see what provinces I am referring to)
Alright, here we go.
In the Coming European Update, they will add two new provinces in the low countries, those being aligned in Yellow.
Those being Den Bosh in Brabant and Lille/Rijsel in Flanders.
This is on top of the 1.25 Rework of the Low Countries which added 3 new provinces.
So as it currently stands, the Low Countries have gotten 5 new provinces since vanilla.
I think we can improve upon this so here are my suggestions:
Lined in Red starting from the Top Left:
Westfriesland - A rich province distinct from the rest of North-Holland and Amsterdam. There is a remainder of a unique identity in the region which probably stems from it being part of the Frisian Freedom. Conquered in the 13th century by Holland, it remains a unique identity and was quite wealthy in this time period, being far more important than Amsterdam as that was just a small fishing village.
It features the cities of Hoorn, Egmond, Schagen, Alkmaar (borderline), Medemblik and Den Helder.
Potentially make the province Frisian culture to refer to the old Frisian Freedom and the Westfriese dialect.
Top Right:
Drenthe - While often being the butt of jokes and not being regarded as a full member of the 7 provinces, it was a unique area which has always been its own thing in history. Being part of Utrecht at the 1444 startdate, later becoming the Lordship of Drenthe when it was contested and eventually conquered by Charles V, only to not be admitted as a full member of the 7 Provinces of the Netherlands as they paid too few taxes.
This has been regarded as an excuse to exclude it, but I disagree. While poor for Dutch standards, it wouldn't have been regarded as that by the rest of Europe or the realm of Charles V as he made it a lordship, a title which Friesland carried as well.
Flanders:
Yperen - An important city in western flanders which has been important throughout history, with events such as the battle of Ypers in the first world war, but it has been an important city since the middle ages. Being the home to much of the clothmaking in Flanders, quite rich and a shame to not include.
To the East:
Limburg - Limburg was another one of the 17 provinces of Charles V. Limburg in the middle ages was a Duchy and was inherited by Brabant, the capital of Maastricht was disputed between the Duke and the Bishop of Liege.
To the South:
Arlon - The French part of Luxemburg, now a province of Belgium. It was for most of its history a French cultured area, contrary to Luxemburg itself which was Rhenish and remains to this day Germanic.
Luxemburg was very large in history and I think having two provinces is the only thing that makes sense.
I will be posting more potential changes to the European Map Update based on each region and elaborate more on why changes should be considered.
I hope the developers take a look at this and take some of the suggestions into consideration.
