I was thinking of creating a custom scenario for HOI2. It will take place in early 1937, and is based on alternate history. Its if the US and Canada end up fighting each other in a war, in which the US plans on annexing Canada if they win, while Canada would like to gain some of the nearby states, (Maine, Washington, Some areas near the great lake, etc.) Im going to need someone to ...

- Create a good story line to go with it (might do it myself)

- Create a map (again i might do that myself)

- Events

- victory messages/triggers, and defeat messages/triggers

And ill probably need some flags and shields because i might include some of the US states or Canadian provinces becoming independant as the war dragges on.

Not to be purposely negative but Canada vs USA is hardly much of a contest...

Yeah i know but remeber this is the time date when the US military is well, much weaker then it usually is. So it would probably end up like a nice battle. So remeber i need ppl to help me out with what i listed above. And questions and comments are always welcome :D

Ahh time for pointless knowledge to pay off....

The plan to invade Canada was War Plan Red. It called for mobilization in four places taking Canada hopefully within six months.

Canada had a similar plan for counter-invasion Defence Scheme No. 1. It called for a rapid invasion of Seattle, Washington; Great Falls, Montana; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Albany, New York in a surprise attack.

It would then use planes to making bombings on Industrial areas. If problems occured the armies would pull back and defend, awaiting aide from England.

So your scenario would need the US to invade, and Canada to defend. Maybe at five months or six at which time England arrives with reinforcements and supplies.

Vic for US:
strong: Take over Canada, duh!
weak: Collect the capital and well I don't know how many victory points.

Vic for canada
strong: own X amount of US provinces and terroitory.
weak: X amount of points left.

Well thats good. I like the England helping idea. Maybe about a month or 2 after the war goes on, maybe Canada could get a couple more divisions via england. And i thought it out, and during the war, Texas, Northwest territories will become independant. Maybe British Columbia will to if the Americans take most of Canada.

Getting the rest of the UK involved is stacking the deck vs the USA. Might take some time but it is an inevitable Canada/UK victory. Not very balanced if you ask me. I don't think the USA player could get enough of an army and navy out to give a fighting chance once the UK steps in, which they naturally would for Canada. I see this turning into an anti-USA scenario lol. Also everyone seems to like the idea of some American states splitting off... um well then you would DEFINATELY be stacking unbalancing the scenario.

I think England and the Allies promising aide is better then nothing. Maybe a division or two of "volunteers." An event can be given saying the British Empire does not really want to be dragged into a war across the atlantic with the German threat growing.

So it is Canada alone, but with aide.

Yet on the flipside Canada going alone is not really fair is it? America puts everything into production and in six months multpile divisions move up into Canada and take it by force. Maybe give Canada a better airforce, or a few tanks to even out the eventaul lose.

exactly i don't want the British acually involoved into the war with the US. Just The Canadians vs the Americans. I might include an event where you can ask Mexico to ally with you. And how do you guys feel about some states/provinces opposing the war, and becoming independant. Ive already chose the nations to become independant. British Columbia (If Canada is almost conquered) Dakota (during the war) and Nunavut (during the war).

If you want to make states break off, in terms of game play Dakota is good for it is a space which the US cannot advance from.

Sooo 1937... America is hit very hard by the Depression and a string of Republican Presidents come up with the plan of building up an army for two reasons. 1.) Creating a needed source of jobs for the population. 2.) Preparation to go to other nations and aquire resources.

The first on the list? Canada! Of course not everyone agress with such logic and some states break off in disgust.

Although at the time, Mexico would have definitely leaned towards an alliance with Canada, the rest of Central America would have chosen the side of America, along with a lot of South America. Although America's allies would be significantly weaker than Britains, it would probably balance out.
