Well, appears I have caught up with the AAR. It is really amazing Pippy, keep up the good work.

Ahh sweet thread necromancy. Where would we be without you?

After what can only be described as a rough couple of years, for a whole variety of reasons, I think I may be in a position to actually start writing again. Naturally I thought about reviving Butterfly, but then I wondered if there was actually anyone left to read it. After all the HOI2 sub-forum is looking a bit quiet since I last was regularly round these parts and I would feel a trifle silly posting an update that no-one actually reads.

Digging through my old notes it appears I had planned updates featuring; Land-locked navies! Puppet cavalry! Dutch suspension systems! Corruption in FIFA! Ridiculously over-detailed tech-porn updates!

If there is anyone left reading this and if that sounds like the kind of thing you would like to read (and comment on) then could you please make yourselves known through the usual methods of posting a reply. While I am hopeful of a reply I am prepared for the fact that 18 months is perhaps a bit too long to leave an AAR and, much like the famous parrot, Butterfly is not pining for the Fjords but is in fact dead.

Hey, if you want to continue...(and regain the record for slowest AAR...ever!)...then by all means. I'll be here reading!

:p

If you don't revive the Butterfly effect I'll do to you something worse than the worse thing that you can imagine...

So, my post wasn't really a post, so I shall try again. I greatly enjoyed reading the Butterfly Effect. I did read it shortly after you stopped updating it, but i found it to be really good. As I was much less mature at the time, I had a lot of fun coming up with weird, unplossible plotlines based off of the Butterfly Effect. I would keep reading the Butterfly Effect if you start updating it. (I would also comment)

It would be a cruelness that I cannot imagine an Englishman knowingly committing, to tease us with promises of Dutch suspension systems and then not follow through. And who can but imagine what changes a resurgent British Empire has on the politics of FIFA?!?

After recently re-reading TBE from the beginning, and realising just how good it was, a revival would be awesome.

Know this El Pip, if you write it, we will read it.

The question is, can you put up with the constant badgering for new updates that will inevitably come to pass?

Thank you all for the replies, I'm heartened that a mere year and a half absence has not dimmed your enthusiasm. I am therefore delighted to announce that Butterfly will make it's triumphant return with an update featuring; Mongolia, pipes, dragons and almost no mention of Britain.

In the grandest tradition of this AAR I didn't actually intend to feature most of that, but what was supposed to be a quick line at the start soon became a whole update in itself. I can but hope it meets expectations when it gets posted some time this weekend.

Wot? No South American border clashes with fighter planes from Eastern Europe? So dissappointing... ahem, I mean, update! Yay!
