I agree that it currently works in a dumb way, and should give a say to the player. I'll look into it!

Have you converted this into events yet? It does seem odd that both HUN and ROM can be turned into puppets without those countries (even if human-controlled) having any sort of say in the matter.

This is definitely one of the options for resolving it.

The focus now fires events giving players a chance to decline (AI will never do so). Any subjects Romania or Hungary may have are also puppeted by Germany rather than going free (they can't stay under ROM and HUN because we don't support puppets-under-puppets).

Changes should be in in the 1.6.1 post-release patch.

So, please, can same be done with focuses of China (Joint tank development) and Hungary (Soviet-Hungarian military academy)? Or something else to fix the fact that these focuses do more actual harm for SU than any benefit, and we can't even refuse that one-sided cooperation.

I'd like to remind you that this is an issue that permeates far deeper than just these two focuses that happen to affect your favorite nation. We won't add a quick hacky solution to fix these two isolated focuses when a more systemic fix is required (think of all the other major countries that also are added to tech sharing, such as UK and USA in various DOD focuses). That being said, thank you for reporting this, I've noted it down and will pass it along for someone to look into it :)

Yeah, I think we need to have a discussion internally on how to solve it. I can't give you a timetable on it though, just that it's now in the system for us so we're aware of it :)

1.6.1 release when? with launch or a week later ( or will the open beta contain this change?)

I said I entered it into the system. I did not say it was fixed or will be fixed. It's subject to all the same stipulations of regular bugfixes - i.e. we will fix it when it's important enough compared to all the other issues we have to fix. Considering we are about to release a DLC and there will likely be a lot of stuff you guys find we need to jump on immediately, I am not sure whether it will make it in for 1.6.1. It might, but it might not.

@Bratyn About Integrate War Economies in Multiplayer, how are Military Factories distributed, if Hungary and Romania decline the puppeting? Does Germany and the two minors still get the extra Military Factories from the Focus, and just stay free, or is this blocked, if they don't want to become puppets?

Neither side get any factories if they decline. But it's handled per country, so if one accepts but the other declines Germany gets 4 factories.

You do though. Just came from an Ironman game, and Dominion Australia puppeted British Malaya without any difficulty while remaining a dominion.

But this is not intended behaviour, and we don't want to rely on things 'happening to be working without being designed to work this way' when making focus trees.

We also wonder how Australia's focus to puppet the Dutch East Indies will work now that the Netherlands can insta-annex it. Will Australia puppet the Netherlands instead?

No. It simply won't have an effect. The focus will be bypassed if the DEI no longer exist (i.e. are annexed).
