Basically what I did was use F12 to add 100% dissent to Britain. Twice over the course of the game I put myself back up to 100% because revolts I got a bit bored.
At the start of the game I kicked France out of my alliance.
I forgot to turn off Democracies can declare war so France went mildly insane. (Good job I banned them form the Allies)
I tried my hardest to hold back the seemingly endless supply of rebel and their successor nations but usually fighting with 0 supplies (I started selling off ships for supplies just before ending) I got my arse royally kicked.
I will describe each region now in detail.
The Americas
Things didn’t actually go that badly in the Americas, I lost almost all of the Bahamas, Newfoundland and a few Caribbean islands and only one state broke away. Leninist Guyana sadly also holds the only useful provinces in our colonies in the Americas with its massive supplies of metals. But its not too bad out here and if I was to continue I might make this one of my main bases.
Sub-Saharan Africa
I’ll admit to negligence on this front as I was busy concentrating on India and the Home Islands and sadly allowed the East African Union to get out of hand. I’ve managed to hold onto Sudan though so not all is bad and if I was to continue I could easily bring up the South African army to save Rhodesia.
The Middle East
Plenty of excitement out here but little involvement from me. Cyprus was the third country to break free and actually formed a democratic government, not the Left Wing Radical/Leninist/Stalinist that most seemed to prefer. Shortly later Jordan broke off and again to my shock they went for a democracy. Rather than go after rebel controlled Palestine they invaded Iraq, who I left to fend for themselves (giving up military control). They have managed to fight the Jordanians to a standstill but really should be doing a lot better. Iraq also seized Kuwait from rebels and now have it under their watchful guard. Palestine became a Left-Wing Radical some time after Jordan was free and quickly moved in on the rebels who controlled northern Egypt and the Sinai peninsula, they are doing pretty well and not many partisan troops are left standing. Also Malta recently broke fell on the third attempt as my garrison finally buckled under the pressure but they are yet to become independent.
Gibraltar
Gibraltar is in rebel hands but the interesting thing is that no one can pass through the strait as everyone is at war with ‘rebels’ I feel sorry for Republican Spain (who won the Civil War) who have to travel all the way around Africa to get a ship form Seville to Malaga. There was a time when Suez was rebel owned as well meaning the Mediterranean was completely sealed off

!
The British Isles
Plenty of stuff went down here in the homeland. There were epic amounts of partisans (well over 20 divisions) against my 5 half dead divisions. I held them for sometime relying on encirclements to hold them at bay. I foolishly DoWed Ireland for no real reason and they launched 3 invasions of England, all of which I defeated. Sadly after a long stalemate in along the border the large Scottish army broke past the rebel lines taking most of Britain and destroying the last of my army before I could retake those two provinces in South East England, even though the Irish were already beaten.
Europe
France deserved what came to them. After nations began breaking free form me they started declaring War on everything that moved and gained huge amounts of dissent. Germany attacked via the Benelux and quickly conquered France. The Soviets then threw themselves into the fray and faced almost all Europe united in the Axis. I seriously don’t know who will win this war but I wouldn’t bet against the unified Europeans.
Asia
This, in my opinion is the most interesting region. Stalinist Pakistan was the first nation to break free of Britain and almost got re-conquered in the early part of the war but I got pushed away at the last moment. I put up a really good fight, using the Bhutanese and Nepalese armies extensively but eventually had to withdraw from Northern India. The last battle in India saw one rebel militia face 4 barely active British divisions in southern India. This one battle lasted two months but eventually my units lost (longest battle I’ve ever seen). Elsewhere Left-Wing Radical Sri Lanka and Malaysia broke free, but I still hold Singapore and Hong Kong! By far the coolest outcome of this chaos was the Yunnan-Burma war. Instantly after independence Yunnan invaded Burma. Obviously they made quick progress reach Mandalay before being halted since then they have twice had units encircled and destroyed (I don’t know how many) and Burma has expanded westward, gaining massive manpower provinces in India. But recently Yunnan broke past Burmese lines to take Rangoon just when it seemed Burma had the upper hand. Personally I can’t see Yunnan winning in the long run as Burma had a lot more IC and manpower but who really knows?
I might continue this crazy game, using Commonwealth units to reclaim the Empire if there is any interest. If not then this was certainly the strangest game of HoI I have ever played.
