Part I: Introduction & A Growing Threat
Alabard Endel often fancied himself as a revolutionary, one who sought to limit the power of leaders, including himself - after all, how else did the Second Empire collapse but only due to the too-great power of the Akaviki Potentate? He had even written, along with his Council, a document he called a "Constitution", which stated that:
The Constitution of Markwasten said:
...no one person is above the law... not even the Baron...
along with many other things. And so, Alabard sought to export his revolutionary ideas, whether by force or by peace. And he would begin by force.
But first, he had to attend to other things, such as securing an heir to his barony,
and recruiting a court physician to cure him of aliments.
By the time this was all said and done, an entire year had passed, and Alabard was anxious to begin his conquest. He decided to start with the Kingdom of Sharnhelm, ruled by King Roderic.
Of course, seeing as Alabard was no match for Roderic's army, he had hired three hundred Nordic mercenaries to do his bidding.
Due to the Baron's forces now outnumbering the King's, Alebard then crushed King Roderic's army at Sheildwall, which Alebard then laid siege to.

During Mid Year, his wife had finally given birth to an heir, a girl named Bernice. Unfortunately, Alebard's wife died the next year.
The war was won late in 452 2E, and now Alebard was setting his sights on another barony...
