To begin the invasion of Chile, Benavides’s forces overwhelm the Chilean division in Antofagasta, forcing them to retreat after mere hours.
Infidels! Social Conservatives have gained control of our government! This is a terrible blow to our Grand Plan, but the great Benavides and his loyal original cabinet remaining still stay in power, waiting for the right opportunity to bring totalitarianism back to Peru.
We choose a new Minister of Security, reducing our Consumer Goods need by 5%.
The lack of marmalade supplies proves too much for the weak Chileans, who offer us much of their land, but no deal from the enemy is a deal worthy of Benavides!
After reorganising, an assault on the capital of Santiago begins, resulting in a second victory for Peru.
Guaranteeing the independence of Chile, the USA breaks their non-aggression pact with us. Ha! They pose no current threat. Let them come.
After securing Santiago, we offer to return Chile’s rightful land to them. If they bow down to us, that is. Alas, they decline the deal, and the repeated deal the following week.
Three weeks without their metal-rich province of Antofagasta and their precious capital of Santiago, the Chilean government accepts our regime, and becomes our puppet.
Peru’s sphere of influence has now expanded.
Where shall the fearless Benavides strike next?
It might be good idea to puppet all of south america for their resources and then IC whore like mad.

I'm hoping to puppet enough SA countries that I can trade resources for supplies, enabling me to pump plenty IC into the production of factories for a few years, then spam infantry or buy from the Axis. May be more difficult now that I'm Social Conservative, though. 
Ecuador will fall quickly I say, and yes I would worry about the USA.

Don't worry, both Ecuador and Bolivia are on my hit-list.
But without wanting to reveal too much information, when I take out Bolivia I will probably simultaneously take out Paraguay before I puppet Boliva, as Bolivia has a territorial claim on Paraguay's capital. One strong nation is better than two weaker ones, as they say.
And America isn't too much of a threat to me at the moment, in my opinion, because large trades are keeping relations at +200, and remaking non-aggression pacts is pretty easy.
Quick question though: anyone got any tips on improving my chances to get into the Axis? Before the Chilean war there was <20% chance (but I didn't want to accidentally start an early WWII), and afterwards it has become zero. I'm slowly influencing Germany, but I'm worried that that may be a waste of money...
Anyway, update probably coming tonight, as I've had plenty of time to play ahead (ill off college, woohoo! I mean, err... ill off college, ouucchh...arrr... *groaaan*....).
