Surely Peru cannot affect the course of history? Surely such an industrially weak, populationally challenged, isolated country cannot intervene in the grand schemes of war? Well that, my friend, is where you are absolutely right… But let’s have a go, shall we?
Quite usefully, Peru starts out as a Paternal-Autocrat dictatorship. That saves several years of slider moves. Every other aspect of the country, however, leaves something to be desired. My research choices will have to be considered carefully and be beneficial both long-term and short-term, and my production will have to be concentrated only on what I really need. None of those fancy factories or navies for Peru! Oh well, if we’re going to succeed, we’re going to need that silver-lining attitude our parents keep telling us to use.
An overview of our initial situation, including our territorial claim on Ecuador. Oh, and before you ask, it doesn’t have any IC. Or manpower. Or resources. It’s a blob of hard-to-traverse land. Nevertheless, it is our blob of hard-to-traverse land, and in the course of time, it shall certainly be reclaimed. And by “certainly,” I mean “possibly.”
Our diplomatic stance after our ministers decided that this year we were going to plan our market a bit more centrally than last year. This gives a most welcomed +15% boost to our industry.
Anyone ever heard of Paul de Beaudiez? Nah, neither had we. Mostly because he commanded our non-existent air force. But he was the best our country had to offer in terms of researching infantry, believe it or not. Since combat is going to be difficult in the mountains and jungles of South America, we need all the combat superiority we can get, so this tech seemed like the most sensible choice. I could’ve spent months researching industry and manpower improvements, but their bonuses would have been miniscule considering what little I’m working with here. Hmm, if anyone sees that silver lining, feel free to point it out.
Oh, here it is! Maybe. Our starting forces aren’t too shabby compared to some other South American countries. Three solid divisions of vanilla infantry and a mountain division. Led by none other than our glorious leader, Oscar Benavides Larrea! Couped the nation twice to gain control. Oh dear.
Fast forward one day to see how our resources are faring, and here are the results. Some trading with the USA should sort out any problems.
Behold our glorious nation, the second of January, 1936!
Let's kick this pig!
