well historically I love england, specialized in it for my history classes...I was thinking maybe trying to create a unified germany though w/ a German minor...hmm...that might be fun would have to delve into some books to go deeper into some of that history though...HMMMMM

AugCaesar: I think you should start with a really minor minor in the German states... because sometimes games that start out desperate are the most fulfilling when success finally comes.

Just wanted to drop a line and let you know how much I enjoyed this AAR. It was the first one I read all the way through in one sitting, and I enjoyed it immensely. It also inspired me to try another GC as Scotland, after the first two attempts saw first Aragonese landing in Edinburgh, then Byzantines (yes, those Byzantines. ) Thanks again for such a great piece.

LOL, no, I was playing the normal grand campaign, and it was quite an unwelcome shock. I was amazed their galleys were able to make it that far.

Never forget it gentlemen. You could be the Teutonic Order and find yourself at war with China in 1420 by some fluke. If the war lasts long enough, expect masses of Chinese vessels and subsequent hordes of troops coming to plop themselves down on your territories...eventually.

Indeed. That would explain it.

Bismarck: I meant to ask before, how were you able to inherit the English leaders? A mod of some sort? I would have liked the generals, but I was really looking forward to the explorers and conquistadors. I got my DP settings conducive for randoms, and was able to fill in for England pretty well in terms of areas colonized.

Well, after I was sure that England would never reappear I copied some of the English leaders from the ENG leader file into my save game file.... just a few, so that I would have a couple of leaders....

I can perhaps help you do it if you are so inclined.....

Bismarck - I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this AAR. It was magnificently written, and the quotes were a very interesting added touch. As a student of British history, I thought that this AAR was very realistic and plausible. You certainly have a talent for this sort of thing!

Thanks JohnnyCanuck.... I always thought I had a knack for turning the implausible in game terms into something believable in AAR terms. It is sort of fun coming up with explanations for thngs that make absolutely no sense....
