Make sure you downloaded and installed the official 1.07 patch before you installed the latest beta. In any case it's screwed up, and you need to do this:

1. Uninstall EU2
2. Reinstall EU2
3. Install 1.07 patch
4. Unzip latest beta

If it doesn't work after this something is really wrong...

Okay when you recieved the error, did you try running the game by clicking the new eu2.exe ?

Well I admit to being confused here. My version does not have a EuropaUnversalis2.exe only an EU2.exe.

Hmm, just had a thought though, when you unzipped the patch, I see that you selected "overwrite", however did you also select "maintain directory structure" or "keep directory structure" or what ever the program you used calls it?
