(especially when you factor in that a lot of those rulers wouldn't be meeting her in person.)

No. It still happens. Way too often. Frankly, I think it's a problem in the code. I don't think Paradox means for this to happen, and I don't think they know why it's happening, and I don't think they're going to ever take the time to sort through why it's happening. Just my take.

Not enough women programmers is my take, no offense to women programmers.

Most women pre-photographic times were described as beautiful even if they weren't for propaganda reasons and helping them get married.

In pre-photographic times, most female rulers were attractive, because they didn't suffer from malnutrition, work-related maimings, and they didn't have sh*t all over them, to take the Python approach to spotting a true ruler.

I'd keep the penalties, though, they're still girls.

Its pretty lame, too, that you wind up only marrying people with congenital traits, because you want the chance of getting a genius. Normally I marry them to a dwarf so I can have a court dwarf, though :O
