After 4 terrible "relatives" i started to make screenshots, and next 4 also were terrible.

Is this just super unlucky or is there some modifier that makes those relatives weak?

1. 0.1.1
2. 2.0.0
3. 1.0.0
4. 1.1.1
5. 0.0.0
6. 2.1.0
7. 0.1.2
8. 2.0.2

If you don't have the Italian Signoria reform, these relatives get -2 to all their stats
That would make all the sense in the world i just could not belive i was this unlucky with those stats.

Too bad it is not stated when you pick that reform it is pretty much hidden information and for me atleast makes those relatives useless.

Thats really interesting. Is it stated somewhere and do you know why that's the case by any chance?
I'm not sure what you mean by stated. You can find this information in the election event on the wiki and in the game files. I guess this has something to do with balancing, because the nephew is relatively young and can be reelected often if you have frequent elections. And you can see his stats, so you don't have to choose him if he is bad.

I find the exception for Italian Signoria interesting.

I haven't noticed the stat differences between signoria and another form where you can select a relative before. I was curious if the game tells me somewhere that there is a difference or if it's another hidden thing.

It is also mentioned in the wiki and in the files and this reform is also mentioned in the 1.30 patchnotes:
Added Signoria government reform, available to Italian Republics. Florence, Bologna, and Pisa begin with this reform. Allows dynastic candidates in elections without any monarch skill penalties. Also allows Royal Marriage.[/quote

As far as I can tell, the facts that the beloved relative has the stat penalty, and that the the Signoria reform removes said penalty, aren't actually mentioned in the game itself. It probably wouldn't be bad if it did. Not sure if that counts as a suggestion or a bug report.

Yes, the game is not showing that anywhere, it actually made my achi run much much harder, i picked up that reform being sure that there is a big chance those relatives will be better then vanilla 4.1.1 pick, but since i didin't pick a relative once, they are always worse or the same in stats but still cost 9 republican tradition.

So far my best stats of a relative i was given were 3.0.3, so i'm always stuck with the 4.1.1 pick....
