Wow, I certainly didn't expect this delightful dialogue!
ForzaA: Thank you

Melody's father is probably one of my favorite characters in this AAR.
billy bob: What makes you say Nick is screwed?
J. Passepartout: Here lizard, lizard, lizard....
Depep212: Probaby because it was a cigarette, not a cigar
demokratickid: Congrats on 200! And thank you kindly.
Hajji Giray I: Oddly enough, that lyric quote made this pop in my head:
Don't know much about the French I took...
aHuman(oid): Oh yes, this thread is ninja sneaky like that!
Chief Ragusa: Makes you wonder just how far the good Baron's reach extends, doesn't it?
J. Passepartout: I'll have to look up those references sometime this summer when I'm not so busy.
JimboIX: I think Nick's father can afford to be wildcardish. He's got the centuries-old title and the accumulated wealth to prove it. There's a few other things as well, but I'll keep my hat on those. I sooo agree cutting down the time was a lot better. I kind of wish they'd have kept the noon start time, though. That said, I -loved- the Dolphins' first day. Second day, not at all. We need WR help and they kept taking OL, DL, RB. I realize it's Parcell's team-building philosophy to emphasize the running game, but still... I'd love to see Henne start as a rookie, though he still needs work on his mechanics, especially his tendency to lock on to the primary receiver.
Jestor: Congratulations!!! ...Oh wait, that's me.
Fiftypence: Thank you!
JimboIX: Thanks. It's a great, great feeling.
billy bob: Wildcat... I'm presuming you mean the K-State variety?
Hajji Giray I: Haha! Thankfully Fayetteville is a liberal bastion against the hordes of Bible belt, ultra-conservative rest-of-Arkansas. Then again, I liked Laramie just fine when I went to Wyoming and Wyoming's arguably the reddest, most conservative state in the country.
J. Passepartout: That'd take quite a while, given how many rivals Arkansas has thanks to the SEC's long, storied history.
Tem_Probe: Thanks! Although I doubt there's much masculine about Melody, unless it's her ability to take charge of situations.
Finarfin: ...That was beautiful. I suspect there's others who'd agree with you, notably a certain... well okay, I was going to say slightly crazy person, but I think you can make the argument that just about everybody in this tale is at least a little off.
J. Passepartout: Crazy/Beautiful! Okay, very formulaic film and Kirsten Dunst looks better with longer hair, but she just oozes sensuality in that flick.
Hajji Giray I: Oh, this isn't going to be one of those M. Butterfly things is it?
billy bob: You know, this is the first AAR on the Paradox boards of mine to even -get- to 1,000 posts and maybe my first dynasty ever to reach four digits. Then again, you guys have all helped pump its post count, which is fantastic.
Tem_Probe: Hmm, I'd say bitch is too common a word-choice for Melody.
Depep212: I hasten to add that Becky's merely dressed as one. To my very limited knowledge, the kiseang is a thing of the past.
ForzaA: Thank you!
Finarfin: It'd be hard for a lot of people to turn down I think, even without any emotional investment.
Tem_Probe: That post reminds me of a lunch at a Howard Johnson's, next to a hotel of the same name, with a pale, pretty girl who looked goth, dressed grunge and thought the 60s was the greatest decade ever. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill duet was playing on the radio and I sang along, embarassing her and making the waitress, a plump, middle-aged Mexican woman laugh.
"He's singing to you!"
"Guh! No! Quit it! *grabs fork*"
"You don't like my singing? *innocent look, eyebat*"
"It's not you, it's this stupid song!"
"But it's your love... it just--*ducks stabby motion of fork*"
"Aw, you two are so cute! Hahaha!"
....
Ahem. In any case, I received word today that I've been accepted into San Jose State as well. However, since the earliest I could get an assistantship, because they have none for applicants after the MFA students woke up and realized they needed to start going for assistantships too.
The only way SJSU enters the picture is if the assistantship at Arkansas I'm hoping/half-expecting to get doesn't materialize and if I'm wowed by SJSU's program as I plan to visit both campuses this spring/summer.
Now, if SJSU's program was at San Diego State or even University of San Diego (aka University of Spoiled Daughters), then we'd have a whole new ball game, but it's not.
