Here is where we will have ALL Information about the Balkan Nations, including Events, Leaders/Ministers, etc.

I've decided that regional threads (Like CORE has), is a good idea, and shall be implemented now. I will soon post more details :D

This is the plot we will be using for the Balkan War. It has been decided, so it will be used. If you'd like to suggest something or correct something in the plot, please do, but be aware that we will only enact minor changes.

1) Ultranationalist is elected president of Serbia & Montenegro.

2) US pulls out of Kosovo and gives it autonomy (third republic status/NOT independence). No war yet

2a) Incidents in Kosovo, few albanians killed. Albania declares that all Albanians need to lie in one state (so their rights are respected etc.)

3) Serbia threatens Albania saying that they have no rights to mess with their internal issues (in case Kosovo isn't independent)

4) Albania sends troops in Kosovo (to protect Albanian people), Serbia declares war on Albania for entering in their country without permision. Albanian people on Kosovo declares themselves as part of Albania (Albania gets Kosovo)

5) Macedonia cracks down on the Albanians in their country, who were uprising over the war against the Albanian states. Albanians in Macedonia want to join Albania

6) Macedonia forms an alliance with Serbia and Montenegro. Macedonia enters Serbo-Albanian war

7) After Pristina and Tirana fall, Bosnia and Croatia form a join declaration for an end to the hostilities and for Serbia to organize a peace settlement with Albania and Kosovo. If refused then Bosnia and Croatia threaten to "organize" such a thing by force.

8) Refused, Serbian president decides to build a greater Serbia. War becomes a deadlock.

Well... it's very complicated but I'll give my best.

Croatia has bad relations with Serbia and Montenegro (SiCG) because they were at war. Leaders of both countries are trying to make up things but people still recognize "other one" as their enemy.

Bosnia has terribly bad relations with SiCG. Bosnia recognises SiCG as agressor and they sued them for genocide etc. It is important to notice that there are people in the part of Bosnia called Republika Srpska thah don't support this accusation. They consider SiCG as their second homeland.
Bosnia has good relations with Croatia, but it is far from perfection. Croats also took part in war by destroying several monuments and burning villages.

SICG has very bad relations with Albania because they're supporting Albanians in Kosovo who are trying to separate from SiCG. As I said before they have bad relations with Bosnia and Croatia.

Macedonia (FYROM) has bad relations with Greece (dispute over name Macedonia and some territories), Bulgaria (territorial again) and Albania(for the preety same reason Serbia has, but here is with much less intensity)

For what I know that is it. If you have more question about Bosnia, region, history or nowadays, political structure just ask. I'll give my best to answer it.

Adnan, thanks!

Your info is going to be quite useful to use for us when we see if we can create a conflict in the Balkans. Thanks :)

here is what i propose to start the main conflict.

a very pro serbian guy/dictator siezes power in serbia and that throws bosnia or whatever in a crises(for whatever reason) bosnia dow on serbia. followed by other countries declaring war on either of the countries as they all vow to restore peace but that is just a deciption to annexation. the countries involved should be Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania.

I don't think Romania and Hungary should be involved directly.

My proposal (based off Kosovo):

1) Serbia gets a nationalistic President
2) US pulls out of Kosovo and gives it autonomy
3) Serbia gets mad, threatens to invade
4) Albania guarantees Kosovo's independance
5) Some villages (Or even a single one would be cool) along the border of Kosovo declare themselves part of Kosovo. Just generally need a border incident.
6) Kosovo supplies arms to these areas to help defend against Serbia.
7) Intolerable, Serbia declares war on Kosovo.
8) Albania declares war on Serbia
9) After some success, Bosnia and Croatia make a joint declaration that Serbia pull out and make peace.
10) Rejected....

Just my humble opinion:

Albanian uprisings in southern Serbia, eastern Montenegro and western Macedonia (in order to create Greater Albania). They are supported by Kosovo and Albania.

1) Kosovo declares independence
2) S&M dow kosovo (partly because it declared independence, partly because they are supporting the uprisings)
3) Albania dow S&M in response
4) Macedonia organizes a brutal crackdown on Albanians in Macedonia, causing both Kosovo and Albania to dow Macedonia
5) S&M form an alliance with Macedonia to jointly crush Albania and Kosovo
6) Serbs in Bosnia, see a chance for a creation of a greater Serbia, and create an uprising in Bosnia
7) Now Bosnia makes a brutal crackdown on the serbs, causing S&M dow Bosnia.
8) Croatia, feeling itself threatened by a possible greater Serbia, forms an alliance with Bosnia, Albania and Kosovo against S&M and Macedonia.

This is just a very rough draft, which I think could be plausible and would be very interesting.

Offcourse Bulgaria has always had territorial claims on both Serbia and Macedonia, so it wouldn't be a problem for them to seize the opportunity (seeing as S&M would be forced to fight a 3-way front).

There you have it, all hell broke loose in the Balkans (except for the Greeks, who have always been the calmest and most rational of the bunch).
