But seriously, how much did wallachian borders change and how much did the province switch ownership during the time period? Ireland at least had those high kings and chieftains that were in conflict with the British.

Seriously, people are overreacting. The map is far better balanced than in EU2, there are still some minor details, but those can be covered with modding and left to users discretion if they want them or not. I'd like a province more here and there, but I'll easily cope without them.

Well obviously Ireland is more important that Wallachia. No hard feelings

It also has a number of historic divisions that Wallachia, AFAIK, does not possess.

Paradox will make the game that they want to make. The map has already been set and will almost certainly not change. Complaining about it now will do nothing. If I were you I'd simply be preparing to mod the game and add in the provinces that you want.

If we compare the surface of Ireland with Wallachia, the 2 provinces
are eqal(aprox 100.000 sqare Km).
So in my opinion Ireland must have 1 province!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If we respect the proportion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Antarctica has a land area of about 14million sqkm and doesn't have a single province. Now that is unfair.



EU3 provinces are not divided to give appoximately the same land area per province. They are divided based on a variety of factors including population, frequency of border change during that era, strategic game balance, etc. That a specific region has more provinces or fewer provinces is really a non-issue if it enhances the overall behaviour of the game, so that's the way it will be.

And a 50,000 square kilometer Croatia has five provinces, plus with the two Bosnian ones, that makes seven for our sphere.

music for my ears. i think istria will have italian culture, so that would mean croatia's going to have 4+2 provinces

Meh, culture of Istria is irrelevant, all that matters is that it is present. Italian, Slovenian or Croatian, its still there and up for grabs once Venice gets bitchslapped. Plus we have no clue what cultures will be present in the region. Will it all be one big south-slavic pot or separate cultures... and considering that Romania will be Turkish, there is good chance it might all have Swedish culture, at least the random monarch will be named Goran.

God, I was so immensely happy when I found out about how EU3 was going to give importance us romainans.
I don't really mind the reduced importance that we received. When I look at Stronghold Legends I get the shivers

I don't think this is a "my country my culture = more provinces", but everyone would wish for greater distinction between each nation's culture.
But honestly I think that turkish isn't the best culture...

It would be very funny if a nation like Greece had turkish culture... (I've lived in Athens for 8 years, and from what I know, a greek whouldn't find it funny (Byzantine empire - Ottoman empire))

Dont worry, there will be a Romanian culture, who knows, maybe even distinctive Wallachian and Moldavian, we're yet to see. Johan was only being sarcastic, since this is neither the first or the last thread with similar topic, and debating cultures and provinces at this point is not fruitful. The current setup is what it is for good reason and whatever tweaks need be made will be made in due time. After the game comes out.

J/k, not intending to flame, but I'm getting a bit tired of how some nations are picked on more than others. When some can have endless threads with wishlists on what colour of underwear the sultan must have and are allowed (and encouraged) to carry on, then others either get banned, spit on or closed threads when trying to ask about their concerns.

Paradox says Eastern Europeans don't buy their games, I'm not surprised as they are treated here by either comments or lack of provinces ingame. The French are apparently also allowed to be harassed with unjust comments, I've seen it many times on this forum.

The great big US of A get the game first of all and they got all provinces correct and smooth (of course here the borders changed so much more often than in Eastern Europe... )...its all commerce, a good thing? Yes of course companies must live on, but I seriously start to doubt I will continue supporting this company even if their games are still great.

In fact, you're completely and utterly wrong. Your registration date says 2001, so have you completely forgotten about the 18,000,000 flame wars over Balkan provinces, cultures, etc. that have made the forum a complete mess following EU1 and then EU2? Do you have the faintest idea how many threads have been closed because posters were openly hostile and trolling? Do you know how many people we've had to ban as a result of it?

Topics are banned on this forum when posters have proven that they lack the maturity and politeness to discuss them in a civil and rational manner. That's the only reason they're banned. Period.
