You are right, and it also gives Ottomans the motivation and willingness to crush the newly independent disloyal rebels. Since they did not appriciate our tolerance for religion this time we shall try the Pan-Islamic model to keep the Arabs at least and the implement conversion by sword technique in the Balkans... :wacko:

Of course, in order to do so, Russia and Austria should be in war against eachother... :rofl: otherwise we're history once more.

Up to now, I thought I had a complicated ancestry. From an earlier post, I understand you served in the Cav. Thus, you, me and anyone who has served can understand how truly ugly war is and can get. Thus, it is better to play it, than actually fight.

All jokes aside, we tell the history we are taught. I never considered myself truly subjective. My purpose, also, isn't to give offence. I wrote what I know. Maybe it is wrong.

"Halayik"? it's like an unofficial wife, but not the one that 'islam' allows you to, she can be 'bought' from a slave market but is not an official slave neither... it's a girl that does whatever you want and helps your wife with house duties, shopping etc. isn't it what we all dream of? maybe we should re-establish Ottomans...

Sounds like either a housekeeper, maid, or Concubine perhaps, from the description. Or just "servant".

But your wife has to tolerate when you have sex with her..
Since you are not married, you cannot get a divorce but she remains member of household.
If she gets pregnant, you'd have to take her as a wife (second, third or even fourth -never more than four)

(But honestly speaking that part of domestic family history is not my area of interest so, i may be wrong and it's saturday night in Manhattan, so if you excuse me i'll skip the history browsing part for this spesific subject )

Although some fanatics in both our countries doesn't find the idea fascinating, the more time we spend together, we always end up finding more things in common that unite us than the ones that seperate us. I think that destroying of Ottoman Empire power in Balkans should be easy in 1835 if only European powers will make some consensus about how to divide its teritory. Ottoman Empire was very weak state in this period and Russians in war with it didn't take Istanbul only because of England and France intervention.

Apparently (judging from the Beta AARs) there is a concept called "satellite" in Victoria which seems similar to vassals in EUII so why not have those parts of the Balkans who were formally part of the OE yet had a degree of autonomy begin as Ottoman satellites?
