I really want to just chronicle my little adventure with trying to invade Azd Umaind as the Yahballaha Emirate which, given that I had the Kingdom of Makuria and the Kingdom of Alodia on side and that Azd Umaind was really badly weakened from a war should have been really easy.

So we invade and raise some significant forces to do so.We defeat Azd Umaind in battle and occupy some territory so that everything is going well and it seems that with a few years of warfare we should be able to win. The the Arwadid Emirate attacks me and we're forced to pull out to deal with them allowing Azd Umaind to undo all our work and retake the occupied lands. Once we have defeated Azd Umaind we launch another attack as part of the war and manage to defeat them allowing us to retake the lands we had occupied. Then the King of Makuria dies and HIS ENTIRE ARMY DISAPPEARS so me and Alodia can't stand against Azd Umaind any more and are forced to pull out undoing our work again. So I make another alliance with Makuria and we begin fighting back again only for Alodia to get embroiled in a civil war and pull out their troops. Same deal, we pull out and lose our gains. Then when they come back we go at it again only for the Arwadid Emirate to attack AGAIN forcing us to repeat the EXACT SAME THING AGAIN. So finally after defeating them I think 'lets do this'. We invade. We defeat them. We occupy the SAME BLOODY LANDS AGAIN.

Then the King of Makuria dies and his entire army disappears...

Hmm well I probably dont recognize it as I havent really played in that region yet. Ive personaly had a lot of such wars in my campaign, mainly because attrition is the biggest killee of my armies by far. Surprise winter lose a third of my army and then travel times are so long that I lose half of my army before I can split up. During December to March the Garrison and levy together are more than the supply limit...

It actually got worse afterwards. I managed to rebuild my alliance with the Makurians and literally one day after making the alliance before they could join, my king dies and the alliance breaks again leaving my daughter to take over. My new regent refuses to make any alliances whatsoever...

Oh I am no fan of attrition either, its surprisingly okay though for the Southern part of Arabia which, to be fair, IS very out of the way so its unlikely most people would know it well (I just like the idea of playing Nestorians)
