Goodness the anger of people is incredible. I mean this is a DLC first of all, and what is wrong with a little fantasy scenerio? And people are acting as if they have put every bit of their resources on this DLC, but I doubt that. And we can't forget that this can lead to other things and features such as a better mongol/invasion system, black plague, and whatever else this is throwing about, and a little fun scenario. And there is clearly a reason that they aren't releasing a big DLC like pagans, republics, or some norse time line push back. It is because they aren't ready. So we can either get no DLC till it it is done, a crappy thrown together DLC, or something that is enjoyable. And from what it is I honestly do believe that they aren't using that many resources. I could be completly wrong about this and underestimating the effort in this, but I don't think so.
And again it is a DLC, you don't need to get it...

I don't understand all the anger either, but then it's kind of a normal reaction now to anything concerning CK2 which is funny; all of the DLC so far has been completely optional yet people still bitch and moan...

Everyone is angry because they presented it like a major DLC. It isn't but it sounded like it was. LoR wasn't very major either but it was a major DLC.

Honestly, most of the untamed rage over the Aztecs I've seen so far has come mostly from two posters who have made it their mission for the day to RAAAAAAAGE over Aztecs as much as possible and in as many threads as possible. Some folks just need to chill and try to think about this more rationally than "OMG, HOW DARE THEY ADD OPTIONAL DLC THAT DIDN'T TAKE AWAY DEVELOPMENT TIME AND IT ISN'T WHAT I DESERVE!!!"

These "expansions," are called "major DLC" by Paradox.

I read the whole announcement on the website and didn't know it was a minor DLC. I found out when I read an interestingly titled thread.

More like the people who go there, find out 'WHHATT? Aztec invasion expansion?' and then don't immediately grasp that it's a small-scale DLC that's not part of the main CK2 'experience', but think it's something like SoI or LoR.

I think allot of the anger is a mixture of shock and love. PI are famous for making great games based on history and for making them accurate. The irony is that once you start playing the game it is a- historical and that is the fun part! I think this dlc emphasises the fun part but at the cost of the historical blank canvas that each game normally begins with. Personally I'm quite intrigued how the DLC will work and what it will bring to the game.

Edit: Love in a conservative sense (don't spoil our historic building by building a internet cafe next door)... that's a bad metaphor but you know what I mean

This. So much this. The butt hurt was just outrageous. Some people really take things too seriously... Buy the DLC to support future development. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

I can understand that one do not like the DLC, but that doesn't mean he should be angry about it. At the end of the day one is not the center of the world and should be able to stand that a minor and OPTIONAL DLC is not directly in accordance with his interest
