Great AAR, congratulations on the World Conquest. Not really much to complain or change, I enjoyed it and enjoyed te back and forth with you and the other reader. Take a well deserved breather and I look forward to your next AAR.

Looks like we will have to leave the land of liberalism, shitty weather and bikes...

We will go to the land of mafias, coffee, pizza, pornstaches and wine!

Thank you for a very entertaining AAR.
I'm glad you found it entertaining :) Thanks!

Thanks a lot for this savefile.
I am in a learning process and will use your aar as a teaching course. I may therefore, if you don't mind, come back to you asking for a few other savefiles.

No problem at all :) Should you have any questions then don't hestitate to ask.

If you could change one of the ideas, what idea would you change and why?

Hmm. That is a difficult question. I don't know if taking economic ideas was the best idea. Amsterdam's inflation issue was never solved by taking. Although I don't know what I would have substituted it with. Maybe taking diplomatic ideas instead of economic ideas would have been the better decision or plutocratic ideas for the reduced revolt risk and higher moral. But it is difficult to tell as this includes a lot of "IFs". I'm overall happy with the campaign and with what Amsterdam has achieved.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

I would have taken plutocratic earlier. Plutocratic is a nice idea group that is not too strong but still has some very nice bonuses like -2 unrest, +10% morale, +10% goods produced and -5% tech cost. It's one of my favorite idea groups, especially after I have taken humanist. It allows you to conquer non-stop without rebels.

Bit belated, but anyway: thanks for this AAR.
The topic caught my attention and brought me to actually post in this forums.

Will be looking forward to your next AAR :)

Thanks a lot :) I'm glad you enjoyed The Amsterdammer Way. I'll keep up posted on when I'll start a new AAR :)
Great work on the AAR @delpiero1234! It was indeed a fun journey and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Huzzah!
Thanks for the feedback!

Shameless self-promotion: Today I launched my new AAR titled The Sun Never Sets featuring England. The AAR has interactivity which means you get to have a say in the fate of the country, just as you had in The Amsterdammer Way.

Want to join the ride? Here you go

Ahh, the Brits.

Oi'll 'ave to practjice muh Oirish accent then.

Just a small reminder that the annual Year End Awards have started. Please take a moment and read the official thread for the awards and nominate your favorite AARs. Cheers!

I am back to you after having used your Amsterdammer AAR as a tutorial tool. I have learnt a lot from it and am now in 1552. The international politics in my game is now obviously quite different from yours.
Is it possible to have access to your savefile for this year 1552 ? It will help continuing the game and pursuing my learning process.
I thank you.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I have compressed all 32 The Amsterdammer Way save games into a .zip file. You can download them from Mega.

Your zip is downloaded. All files are ok. Thank you very much.
May I suggest that (down the road and hoping that the full interactivity doesn’t become too time consuming) you‘ll prepare something similar for The Sun Never Sets which looks quite promising.
