If you're using the buy and sell province function to fix boundaries you might as well just go into the save file and fix them there. Especially if it's from AI-AI wars, since it's pretty hard to fix those boundaries ingane.

Oh, and how much historical flavour it has: go to save file and edit rather than click diplomacy option :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yes, because one country buying and selling another country's land in order to "fix" borders that were created between two other countries was so common during this time period. :rolleyes: I'm sorry, but don't bring historical flavor issues into something that has the people arguing for it have admitted has nothing to do with the historical aspect of the game.

I see no real reason for swapping of land to be removed as a diplomatic feature. If abuse is the real reason then let those who feel the need to abouse the game design do so and let the others play the game as intended.

Not only that, but it's a matter of convenience. I'd rather not quite my game (possibly entirely just so I can navigate through my desktop), open up a text file, and play hunt and find for provinces and their owners. Yeah, it may not be complicated, but it's faster and easier to do it in game in the old Vicky 1 method. At the very least the option to sell a province in EUIII style would be okay.

Actually, in real life border disputes (i.e. messy borders) were regularly referred to third parties for arbitration. That's what nevilling the borders was to me, anyway.

PI's policy regarding such things-because <1% of people are dicks and abuse a system, it has to be taken out.

I agree its silly to take out as well. Buying and selling land is something that should without question be in this game.

Hell it was even in EU3.

Its VERY strange not to have it as an option especially for this era.

What if i'm playing as nation X and another nation has core on me that I do not want to police. I'll sell them to the other nation.

Its stupid not to allow this.

Lets say i'm playing a game where I have colonies that I do not want anymore, another player wouldn't mind having them so I sell them to him. This could work with the AI as well..... sooo stupid to remove this feature.

No, they removed it because the AI never used it. Why should they take the time to include a feature that the AI would never use?
This is assuming that MP doesn't exist in this game.

So... players are only using the feature for multiplayer and to modify the borders of other countries created by AI-AI interactions, whereas the AI itself will never use this feature at all during the game. Tell me why Paradox should use some of their programming time to add the feature in again?

IF im the great and bountiful British Columbian Empire, and together with my loyal Allies the great nation of Quebec have carved up the United States into a tiny insignifigant remainent on the far east coast, with the CSA beneith them.

Why would Alaska go to them and not me? that always bugged me in Victoria, it ought to be offered to North American nations starting with the most powerfully ranked and working down from there if the top says no.

BUT ultimately land negotiations are needed, but the devs have said no, so like Peace terms in hoi3, they have decided to remove a necessary mechanic [albeit less important this time] and no matter what they players say it wont matter cos they've made up their mind about it.

the best we can hope for is that they leave the door open for it to be modded in.

i never played MP, but i used land deals in every game. To manage your empire, you need it.

so mostly
the game is completely unplayable, austria can never ever, win a war against germany, cos there is no event for it. and you can only annex or puppet, not puppet but kept thie corridor, or anything like that. And between all the big players, its preset peaces that make no sense.
And from a victoria endgame, which theyre selling v.II for being convertable into HoI3, the game will be utterly unplayable.

Playing Vicky in MP is like that scene near the beginning of Fight Club, when the two guys start punching themselves.

This feature is fairly irrelevant, so I doubt most people will care whether or not it's included. I certainly won't. The North American land purchases not really being modeled is a slightly greater annoyance, but I'm sure that's something that really has more place in an event set to fire on loan repayment default for Russia or Mexico to America or America's Hat as appropriate.

Yes, because one country buying and selling another country's land in order to "fix" borders that were created between two other countries was so common during this time period. :rolleyes: I'm sorry, but don't bring historical flavor issues into something that has the people arguing for it have admitted has nothing to do with the historical aspect of the game.

I don´t even understand why you want to "fix" boarders ;P

I still hope they´ll include this option, but with some rules like:
Selling rules for the AI
1.Only provinces with very low national pops
2.Provinces that are very useless in regards to economy and military actions
3.They only do that if they need the money or the province olny consume money
Buying rules:
1.The AI will only accept prices that are a joke(I.e the money the province produce in 1 or 2 months)
2.If the AI have alot of cash lying around


Anyway I still hope for the revival of it

Read the dev diaries, they mention that they used the CB system from HTTT and turned it into a war goals system. When you start a war, you have to explain to your people what the goal is. I.e. "We want Alsace-Lorraine back". Once the war has started, you can expand the war goals by adding new goals. I presume that you will not be limited to core provinces only, but that you can also add for example, "We want to annex the whole Rhineland" even though you have no cores on the Rhineland. Or you could add "We want hefty war reparations".

When the enemy sues for peace, and wants to offer you something, he must pick some of your stated war goals and offer them. I.e. if your war goals are "We want Alsace-Lorraine, the Rhineland and reparations" then Germany can only choose which (if any) of these goals to fulfill. It cannot offer a bunch of random colonies which France never added as a war goal. That's the new system.

That's HoI3, Vic2 is not like that, you can still add pretty much any war goal you like (at least they never told us otherwise), including imperialist land grabs.

The HoI3 war & peace system is utter crap, fortunately it is not used for Vic2.
