So far PI have been doing a good job cutting the fat, i.e. removing useless features, cutting micro and streamlining & simplifying the gameplay and so on. But we haven't heard much about the AI, have we? PI, what are your design goals? How are you doing things differently this time around, relative to previous games? Are things going as planned? How much resources have you put in the AI? Maybe you should do a DD on this subject?
Personally, I am optimistic as simpler gameplay mechanics should make the AI coding that much easier, if somewhat wary.
