So far PI have been doing a good job cutting the fat, i.e. removing useless features, cutting micro and streamlining & simplifying the gameplay and so on. But we haven't heard much about the AI, have we? PI, what are your design goals? How are you doing things differently this time around, relative to previous games? Are things going as planned? How much resources have you put in the AI? Maybe you should do a DD on this subject?

Personally, I am optimistic as simpler gameplay mechanics should make the AI coding that much easier, if somewhat wary.

I think it's close to certain that they're gonna do a DD on the AI. I hope there will be some major improvements, especially the ability of the AI to maintain front lines realistically and create encirclements or manage evacuations or withdrawals, although I am aware of the difficulty in making a perfect AI.

I would love to see AI using paratroopers this time, paratroopers + marines + air concentration and i would really have to pay attention to west front (as Germany) during my invasion of Soviet Union, i hate how it is enough to just garrison all ports. In well planned invasion, paratroopers could first land behind garrison, then simulatniousely with marines destroy port`s garrison, and then infantry and tanks move in to exploit.

Internet likes when you write long messages. I don`t know any Norweigians, but i guess we Nords don`t need too much words compared to rest of the western world.

I really hope that the AI will be at least on par with Paradox's new releases. If you manage to beat Nazi Germany with Luxemburg and go on to conquer the world because of faulty enemy AI, then the devs are doing something wrong. Hopefully, it won't come to that (until DDRJake picks up the game at least).

We've had three AI threads in the last month (one that I'm pretty sure was on the front page when this thread was posted - http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?819426-How-to-improve-the-AI), so a lot of people have already talked themselves out on it lately, and all we can really do at the moment is wait to hear something, so there's not a lot more talking to do. I think pretty much everyone hopes it'll be improved, and PDS' history suggests there's a good chance of this :).
