The AI understands what is needed to form Prussia... Except swap religion.

Well, title selfexplained.

In this latest patch, it is said that the AI will take seriously the requirements to form Prussia. And only fifty-fifty. Konigsberg is mostly essential, and so, Brandeburg will always want it. The problem here is that the AI doesnt swap religion, thus, can't form Prussia. I suggest an event for the AI that, if controls Konigsberg, it should be more likely to change its religion.

Well, my idea of that is not forcing mandatory to swap religion. My idea is, if a country holds X provincies, such as konigsberg, the likehood for swaping is increased. North germany is always heretic, but state religion on such countries (specially electors Brandeburg and saxony) doesnt change.

Why not just remove the protestant religion requirement? Or replace it with high Papal/Imperial relations or something for Catholics, ala Burgundy's path to forming Lotharingia?

Also an event where the AI could choose on a die-roll to become Protestant doesn't seem that railroady, at least no more railroady than having the AI prioritize gathering the required provinces for Prussia.

Because secularising a holy order wasn't a thing catholics would do until the late 18th century, whereas prussia can be formed the instant the 16th century begins

Why would Prussia needs to appear ? If Brandenburg stays catholic and doesn't form Prussia, what's the big deal ? The Prussia fandom is way worse than the Byz one
Dude... Prussia was a major actor in the European concert since mid 18th century, and before even. Is not a fandom, is a fact. A major actor that is not present on this game... I, we, can see, almost every game, the UK, Russia, Ottomans, France, Sweden, Spain... But why not Prussia?

Let's be real. The only reason that Prussia needs to be Protestant is become the Devs disliked seeing Orthodox Prussia and thought it was too strong, so they slapped the Protestant requirement to the formation.

Because history is not deterministic.
it makes no sense that brandenburg is hardcoded to want to conquer the prussia area (because "prussia is op and should be formed" to quote the patchnotes) but not to fulfill the religion requirement. kinda half a solution that mostly archives nothing. also there are examples of worse railroding (bi, dutch revolt come to mind).

Yeah, it would be far better for Brandenburg to not be forced to want certain regions.

also there are examples of worse railroding (bi, dutch revolt come to mind).
It is unfortunate that these flawed events are still part of the game.

lol what. Of course you see Ottomans, France and Sweden in most of your games, they already exist. The UK, Spain and Russia are a bit more rare because they require some provinces to form, but still, they start as a great tag with not much enemies. Brandenburg or the TO forming Prussia is obviously more rare because of how earlt the game starts. But perhaps you'd also advocate for more railroading so that Timurids form Mughals everytime and so on

Really agree here.

The rise of Prussia was the result of some really good rulers combined with very lucky circumstances. Both are very difficult to model given that Prussia really shouldn't be a thing till 1701.

And Prussia rarely forms because the Commonwealth is overwhelmingly strong for Brandenburg and Brandenburg rarely even expands into Pomerania because of Saxony/Magdeburg/Bohemia.

Forming Rum requires being muslim, forming byz requires orthodox, powerful tags should have hard requirements

Thats just obfuscation, pomeralia/west prussia and danzig had an aborted revolt in the lizard league, later a successful one in the prussian confederation, but its institutions clearly differed from that of the teutonic order's older holding in east prussia, visible from the levels of centralisation and ease of tax raising in east vs west.

The Commonwealth would increasingly be on the path to decentralisation in the wake of the the state's formation, meanwhile Prussia would increasingly centralise upon the secularisation of east prussia

Personally, I'd love to see Mughals, Persia and Timurids form every single game instead of the mess we have now for the Persian region and India. Throw in Qing taking control of China while we are at it.
