The AI is not building proper fleets anymore

I'm about 200 years into my current campaign and am a federation member with 3 other empires that all have the ability to build up to battleships. Here is a look at their big fleets:

Fleet 1: 97 Corvettes.

Fleet 2: 152 Corvettes, 6 Cruisers.

Fleet 3: 86 Corvettes, 21 Destroyers, 2 Cruisers.

Fleet 4: 45 Corvettes.

Fleet 5: 13 Destroyers, 46 Corvettes.

Fleet 6: 3 Cruisers, 7 Destroyers, 42 Corvettes.

Fleet 7: 96 Corvettes.

All their Corvettes use a mix of energy disruptors and point defense. The amount of total point defense is stupidly high which makes their fleet on one hand absolute garbage and on the other hand makes any kind of missile and strikecraft usage completely obsolete. Looking at the other empires I don't really see any difference in their fleet composition either. For example the last enemy I fought against used a fleet of 151 corvettes to defend his empire. I haven't actually found a single empire that uses strikecraft or missiles, which makes the point defense spam even more stupid.

The federation fleet I have is designed by myself and I gave the role of point defense to my destroyers. I have one federation fleet with a lot of federation fleet cap to spare. As you might have guessed the AI is actively building ships for my federation fleet, except it is nothing but point defense.

Please Paradox, look into this.

Dear @Wiz please consider fixing AI as a priority. Other bugs are tolerable, but incapable AI makes single player experience completely ruined. Nobody expects really competent AI, but please at least make sure AI builds some ships! :D
