I am ok with the other cheats that the ai uses but the religion tolerance cheat is over the line. Here is why:
I played as Sweden and a funny thing happened in Europe: Austria annexed all of the Balkans, Lithuana, Poland and most of Italy and Germany. Then they DOWed Ottoman Empire and won the whole war demanding Adana and Taurus. And as I said earlier they had most of Germany. They converted to counter reform catholism. So the situation was: Austria being counter reform catholic owned protestantic(german), reformed (Helvetia), Sunni (Turkish), orthodox (Lithuana) and catholic provinces. And in every province regardless of it´s religion the AI had RR -4 religion.

The problem could be solved by giving every country a locked up religious tolerance. For austria for example: (Catholi/counter reform 10) (orthodox 5) (moslem 5) (protestant/reformed 0)

That would be a little bit deterministic for every country.

It is now however very difficult for the ai to gain a province with a religion that is not already in their empire because the ai tolerates all religions it doesn't have a province of to the minimum thus giving it a big RR when controlled but not owned.

That is true.

There is one thing more:
The ai England for example can exploit this by annexing every pagan nation. The player gets RR +1 and this slows down the pagan nation annexing. The ai has no limits because of this cheat.

England for any pagan province at stab 3

cultural differences +2
tax collector +3
stability -5
religion +1 ( except for the ai -4)

The player: RR +1
The ai: RR -3

Yes he has more sliders. I don't think he changes the sliders but I could be wrong.

BTW - AI does not optimise sliders very well. AI Spain will have max negative tolerance for Pagans as many people found out when switching from one country to Spain in ealier patches. Revolt risk due to tolerance was suddenly +11% rather than +1% normally recieved by player! This has been fixed I believed for the player but not for AI:D

The only cheat I'm aware of here is that the AI gets a Pagan slider, while human players are stuck with it locked at some default value. Since the AIs can move the Pagan slider, it gives them more flexibility in their other sliders (as they don't have to balance the ones the player has to middle, but rather the ones the player has *plus* one more).

You can get sort of the same effect with CRC, since there aren't actually CRC provinces... you can become CRC and put your CRC tolerance at zero. All it will do is wreck your relations with other CRC countries, if I recall.

IIRC the AI has full tolerance for ALL religions in their empire.. and zero tollerance for a religion not in their empire. thus making the conquest hard but the keeping simple..
maybe the AI should get some historical guidelines (not necessarily the exact numbers but more like "keep this between max positive and +3" or something)

I agree. It would be nice for random AI-controlled nations by temporarily locking cetain sliders.
