Yeah, but in my experience a lot more fun if the reader gets some input on what happens.

It's funny -- I've completely forgotten about that particular objective, since I've had my own concerns. You'll see what I mean shortly.
Unfortunately I didn't allow for only having one war before China westernised, and failed to use that war to crush it into being unable to fend off a reactionary revolt. I could take more off them, but it would be a lot more infamy now. And those nasty British have gone and sphered the American People's Republic so interfering there could be quite tedious for very little gain. Beating up Denmark for rubber doesn't seen very thematic. I think I'll have to wait for another update before playing again and see if there's any inspiration from your troubles.
Well, soldier pops couldn't be unemployed - they're payed from the Military Spending slider - regardless of being in an actual unit or just sitting at home. If you've the slider low enough they couldn't live from their pay, and eventually either starve (yes that's possible), or demote/promote.
That's one way to look at it.

Btw, like in real life, there are some dudes in the game who don't care about money, and keep starving regardless how much money they have.
Talk about going to the precipice and back with the economy. Between your AAR and 'Serenity' by Renns I'm tempted to grab this title, though I'm still working on CK2 ATM. And good old Afghanistan - history's whipping boy. Keep up the great work.

Russia always seemed to big for me and way to many armies to micro. I may struggle managing armies in my France aar, but who knows.
Do you have any notable allies for your war against the otts, prussians and uk? USA would be a great distraction.

If you get soldiers killed, it opens up space for unemployed farmers to demote into and the net result of extra soldier casualties is fewer unemployed farmers.

Not sure if this is allowed, but check out my French aar called where are all the French AAR's. first one, it took me like an hour to get a ss onto it.
Lol the only way I see it is if you knock out the Ottomans fast as Prussia won't be that big of a deal with bankruptcy. The most uk will do is blockade and france probably won't be able to send troops across europe.
That's one thing I have with this game. Uk and usa ai's are dumb. After ahd, I haven't seen u.k colonize any of Africa at all. Also, the u.k never ever land a force in mainland Europe even against Neatherlands. And 1/20 games usa beats the Mexicans to get their cores back. IMHO they should add an event where the usa just gets all of its cores back if they get like 25%warscore. But the A.i is still to dumb to win a war.

I assure you, there are no problems with the UK colonizing in this game.

more usa ai probs where they never ever win the civil war. They tap out when there at like 18%.
