And I quite did not get the development in Central Asia - you said that you annexed the countries there by a decision but a sec later you are justifying CB against one of them??

Suppression points allow you to stop a movement before it goes critical; check out the tutorial AAR I did for AHD.

I can't annex the minors until 1865, and they have to be in my sphere.

Next is Practical Steam Engine, since techs are virtually my only way out of this mess. It is only in October of 1847, after many weeks of wringing my hands, that I notice this.

If a rising tide lifts all boats, a sinking one must, well, sink them. At one point, I was a distant fifth in coal production. Just ten years prior, France was cranking out 402 units a day, the UK 300. As you can see above, the crisis is global (and ironically enough, brings them down to my level.) It's at this point I panicked, assuming that the game itself had somehow failed -- then I realized the game had, for the first time in my experience since I got AHD, actually caused a global financial panic. After some conversations and soul-searching, I dove back into the game, armed with the knowledge that things had to get better.

They were more commonplace in vanilla -- especially 1.2 if memory serves. I myself was stunned it happened in AHD.

Just caught up with this and I'm finding it fun. The first AAR I'm reading from you and it very informative and fun, keep it up.
I can't help but wonder on the 'not using tariff's', I'm sure it is a legit reason as you emphasized. Could you point me to which of your AAR's you explained it in?

Just to keep you folks in the loop, I played to about the 1890s, and I think I'll actually try to finish the gameplay before I start updating. (There are very long periods in which nothing much happens; NNM kind of bogs down at the end of the nineteenth century). My goal is to start updating by next weekend.

Oh and do you have any tips for managing an army? I've played Vicky 2 for a long while, but i always struggled to manage my armies. I guess I'm just running the game to fast.

It's funny -- I've completely forgotten about that particular objective, since I've had my own concerns. You'll see what I mean shortly.

The best advice I can give is to carefully name each army, so you know what you intend it for. I don't do that in this AAR, but for Russia, it's more "throw bodies at the problem until it goes away" then grand strategy, at least the way I play.

That's really, really true.
As Russia, don't care about any sort of casualties, you've more men willing to die, than you'll ever use.
