I would really want the ability to *not* call upon my allies. I don't want their help in the new world, or the risk that they'll leave the alliance.

And why can't I get a notification when one of my armies arrive in a province?
Is there something I have missed?

The auto pause is coming in the next pact, or so I hope, because boy do I miss that.

Agree that it would be a good option to have. As it was in EUII does that imply that the change was a deliberate one? I found it annoying when fighting the natives in America - they would take my colony only for my Potuguese allies to come and liberate it - for themselves, of course. In fact I found it so annoying that I reloaded and broke my alliance with Portugal before declaring war on the Creek.

Totally agree. Speaking of which, I'd really like the alliance pop-up to inform me what countries I am declaring war on. I don't keep the game log open often and if I get called to, say, help my ally against Baden, I'd like to know if by doing so I am also joining a fight against, say, Castille, England and Austria, all allied to Baden.

That is in the game, just change the messages settings (or right click on the text).
