Are you telling me you can get 11 kph in the Pripet Marshes? Or are you telling me that enemy divisions are hurt more by bad terrain than AC divisions?

I ask because I never seem to be able to get overruns in the woods, forests, marshes, and cities, despite my best efforts (but then again, I'm not the best at optimizing for speed, either).

No I am afraid you will not get something that fancy. However, I looked at it at some point and as fare as I remember, with 2 ACs in an Marm division you will be able to traverse the marshes at apx. the same speed as a marine division would. (depending on tech level and focus ofcourse). In other words the addition of a couple of ACs will allow a Marm division to always have comparable speed to the first best choice for the terrain in question.

Fair enough. Are those ARM/AC/AC/whatever divisions capable of overrunning INF/ART/whatever divisions in bad terrain? I'm guessing the terrain penalties on the ART are so harsh that it should work, although I rarely try with ARM.

I looked at my prefered build Marm, Mech, Mech, AC, AC.

Around 40-42 tech you will get a speed of 6.5-7 mph in normal bad terrain and mountains. In marshes you will be able to do around 4 mph. Since I tend to avoid researching ahead of time on guns and armor but dont have a problem researching alittle ahead on the other bits I get a small extra speed advantage out of it. And yes, I use this type of division to close the baltic pocket also.

If I remember correctly you tend to prefer binary so if you go all in with 3 ACs instead I imagine you will have quite excellent cross-country mobility.

ARM and TD have the exact same base speed: 6. They also get their speed bumps in the exact same amount, 1.0, from the exact same tech, medium tank engine. The only way to make them have different speeds is to research higher levels of medium tank armor than you do of medium tank guns. But if you keep your medium tank techs researched to the same level, then ARM and TD should always have exactly the same speed.

Take a good look at ARM armor tech and HARM armor tech.

Take a good look at ARM armor tech and HARM armor tech.

Yeah, SM already pointed out the HARM tech and its slowing effect on TD a few msgs back. Of course he also pointed out the questionable idea of researching that tech if one was trying to focus on faster armored units.
