There's nothing wrong with the .50's. It is a historical advantage to the Allies that shouldn't be gimped just because the Axis didn't put heavy MG's on pretty much everything.

The 20mm platforms could use a touch of HE love or a slight boost to ROF but not both.

The 0.50 has too much range and thus accuracy as well
I could live with a smidgen of accuracy loss on the .50, but not range. You're still going to get murdered up close by the fitties.

A small accuracy loss would be appropriate. I don't want the .50's to be useless. I really am starting to feel like the main culprit is the efficiency of vehicle mounted guns in general. Their tracking, immediate first hit, etc. It seems all too good and it just seems to be the .50 being the biggest culprit because of how deadly and prevalent it is.

That's the way it was. Do you want fantasy 20mm turrets on German tanks and halftracks or what?
The problem is not the fantasy turrets or the like, im here totaly in line with you no one needs fantasy crap, but the vehicles the Germans had organic in their units are ingame spread over different sections while irl they would be part of the unit, this reduces the amount of German half tracks with more powerfull weapons overall.

The Panzer Lehr had as first Pz Div the so called freie Gliederung and as you can see in the following link with 23 Half tracks of the Pz Gren company you have:
2x Radio HTs, 10x "generic" HTs with 2 MGs, 7x 20mm HTs, 2x Mortar HTs and 2x 75mm HTs.

argl cant lead you to the right unit via link,
http://www.wwiidaybyday.com/
go on Kriegsstärkenachweise,
go to Panzertruppen
and then on the left side of the table under KStN nummer to: 1114c (gp) (fG) of the (1.7.1944)
sorry for the inconvinience!
So almost every third HT is a 20mm HT, i personaly had hoped for a CM like approach to buy historical correct units in platoon/half platoon size ingame but oh well.

Just compare 0.50cal accuracy to accuracy of any other HMG in-game; at 500m it may very possibly be double of anything else that is around. It has more base accuracy at 200m longer range than any other machinegun at 600m. No wonder that at standard fighting ranges it outperforms/outstuns anything there is, including fast-rof 37mm AT, and literally melt enemy stationary weapons with speed and efficiency that for now is hardly, if at all, matched.

Yeah, it really is the .50cal that seems to be the outlier. Everything else causes casualties, the .50cals just vaporize soft targets. I'd love to see a change to them and see if everything else falls into place.

I'd be very careful of nerfing the 50s. 3rd armoured (and no doubt further allied units) rely on them heavily to make up for infantry lacking good mgs.

That being said I do think 20mm should be slightly more deadly, although I really don't feel like it's currently underperforming given its price. They're so damn cheap to bring up and are very veraatile. Their only issue id that you have to constantly rotate them to replenish their AP.

Also give me my Humber AP back!

The .50 cal is kind of under represented that thing can wreck BMP-1s let alone some Hanomag Halftracks if a 222 or other light vehicle got hit with a .50 it would be game over.

I don't think its necessarily under represented. It's just that 20mm sometimes doesn't necessarily perform as well as dome would like.

But yes 50s can be deadly to many things.
