I don't think so. In AoW3 you can be evil theocrat

It seems larger than vanguard walker. I'm certain it's tier 4, tier 4 is huge, there is a loading screen with dvar tier 4 which is titanic in size as comparison.

Then if we consider the riddle, this paladin faction is indeed the planetfall version of archon whose tier 4 is titan. That mech in WH40k should be the equivalent of titan class walker

You are absolutely right about the size of the mech in relation to the Dvar Earthcrusher. It should tower over the Vanguard walker.
They would certainly lean into the 40K Titan classes (although perhaps not the ridiculous size of an Imperator Titan).
I stand corrected;).

Yes, there is a screenshot of walker if i remember correctly, it is the size of star wars walker i think (i forgot the name, it's the smallest one), i thought it is larger before i saw that screenshot

As for the paladin titan in comparison with imperator, i'm not sure, can be as large, i mean if those buildings (looks like syndicate buildings) in the pic is very tall then that titan is very titanic, it's possible it's as large as imperator

Well, I'm happy to get Paladins (Celestian is already one of my two favorite secret techs tbh).

Too bad about the Arc weapons. My least favorite weapon type.

I was hoping for either another new weapon type like the Shakarn's sonics, or a new faction that uses Firearms and Biotech, since that's a combination that doesn't appear in the game yet (And would support an all-Therian playthrough really well.

hmm ok. space paladins. not too thrilled by the idea, but i guess it could be worse.

not sure how that new faction could justify using the malicious secret techs (psynumbra, xenoplague, promethean). but i guess it could still work out. just because you're supposed to be an order of righteous paladins fighting for the good doesn't necessarily mean that you can't overshoot your goal and become the monster you were supposed to defeat - maybe even without realizing it and still considering yourself good and righteous.

I don't think it is 100% confirmed that it use arc, very high probability though, especially if we look at anything related to the imperial like paragon and some independent units use arc if i remember correctly

I still have memories of tunneling underground and breaking into a deep hold. More than forty stacks of undead archon looked upon my dwarf explorers. And a good chunk of them was titans. I learned a valuable lesson of making sure my explorers had proper escorts. 200 gold and a stone fort plus some armies is a cheap price to pay.

I'm wondering if that huge mech thing would fight just like archon titans do.

If yes, then i'm anticpating that it would be definitely be right in your face kind of unit. And has huge movement range.

Ah yes, this I remember as well. Undead spawn camp, but when a single mana node occupied by 3 goblins, a dwarf prospecter and a random wolf blocks the only tunnel and you only reach it at turn 80 or so. AoW3 was hilarious.
Also, your poor prospectors. I salute them.

I am hoping this huge mech is a bit more finnicky then the Archon Titan in AOW 3 though (It simply smashes into your ranks and deals/soaks up massive damage). Maybe it has automated defences, is more of a mobile, fire superiority unit, or serves as a nexus like supporter (such as the Autonom tier IV).

Indeed. Would actually fit holier-than-thou, convinced of their own rightousness factions to lack self-reflection and justify their actions with an appeal to moral superiority.

'What do you mean pain amplification training is un-ethical?, it is for the greater good!'

Or the more 40k-esque:
'the Psynumbra are just non-sentient blobs of pure emotion, we wield them as weapons, they do not wield us. We are totally still good guys...now take these prisoners to the agonisers'.
Or Heritor:
'stealing the essence of bad people isn't really stealing, we are just correcting an evil imbalance in the distribiution of essence.'

I think the same thing. That mech is probably melee focused tier 4. If we look at all tier 4 now, the majority are focused on ranged combat. This one seems melee focused, looks like it is supposed to carry a giant hammer or mace

I really hope it doesn't fight in melee by punching its enemies.

I guess it carry a weapon like a hammer, or energy/laser sword maybe from the bracers in each hand (because we don't see any weapons), if it's the latter, then this faction is officially my most favorite. If it's the former, it's probably hammer that can emit lightning (please triumph don't call it thor's hammer). Lightning sword is also cool

Still no news of the new secret tech? Wasn't one going to come with the third expansion? :(

Look at the kid with the mini-mecha :D

Is anime coming to Planetfall?

Always has been, Snorro Soliman-kun :p

not sure how that new faction could justify using the malicious secret techs

"It's only bad in the wrong hand. Our own too holy and sacred and wise and handsome hands are worthy to... eh... wields that tech and so... eh... redeem it with proper use... yes. that is... were are redeeming that tech with good use. Now scream a liitle harder we need your holy pain to unleash the oblivio mundi on those idi... omatic infidels that don't want to make peace... yes, that is." :p

No deed is evil if you can justify and relativized you actions. Don't act like i haven't seen those CKII badges ;)
Nothing is true, everything is permitted not only work for Assassins :p

No, this was never said, from the launch of invasions we knew there was no secret tech.

I kinda remember, but apparently i am wrong, that with the third expansion there were gonna be a new faction, the oathbound, and a new secret tech, nothing apparently. Sad :(

We also need to remember that in planetfall the main dish is races, secret tech is just seasoning (the opposite og AoW3)

It's only natural that dev team prefer to add new race instead of new secret tech

This is amazing.
I'll reply in depth later, but for now, great. I'm really digging the release cycle too. November 10th, less then a month. Well played Triump. Others have already mentioned this in various threads, but seeing the 3rd DLC makes me, personally, pleased I took a chance on the Season Pass. Worth it. (caveat: unless it breaks the game on release...)

On a related note, seeing as Planetfall now goes full anime, I say again:
NaNi?!!?

Yeah this looks pretty underwhelming. I was hoping the next playable race would be some kind of new alien faction...but we get space paladins instead. First it was the Furry NPC's and now we get anime mech faction. I really wish this game tried to take itself more seriously.

It looks like some guys care more about roleplaying than about gameplay.
If AI stays the same and they don't fix operational strength of teams, it does not matter which factions/NPCs they add, it will still be the same game without any challenge/fun depending on whether you play FFA or vs a team of 11 AIs.

Honestly, the AI in this game is pretty bad. It is the one thing stopping me from playing it anymore. I know they made it somewhat better awhile back, but it stills needs a lot of work. Total pushover in tactical combat, unable to optimize its own sectors (constantly starving for energy even with all the extra bonuses), can't handle silver/gold landmarks or any special locations limited to 1 stack, the list goes on.

If none of these things are addressed with the last expansion I'm just gonna pass.

So my only disappointment is it appears they are going to be arc/psi. We already have arc/psi with Syndicate. They could have easily gone therm(laser)/psi. I mean come on, space paladins. Half the portrayals of paladins call down holy fire. Plus giant mechas wielding laser swords with psyker pilots. I didn't even realize I wanted this until I saw the missed opportunity.
