Yes, he can. But I had the impression he didn't want to continue this game? He thought he had lost. In additition Hortlund took over, so it would be a bit unfair to take away the US from Hortlund again.
Yeah I got the same impression but I don't think we should kick him out if he wants to stay in the campaign. ;)

And that part about Korea. No way you are taking it back I tell you. No way!

Hm, the question is - do I take it before I take Berlin or afterwards? Or at the same time? Always these tricky decisions to make ... .

I think if the US doesn't hurry up we'll have an all red Eurasia at the end of the game. :)

War Development from an Asian perspective:

The Soviet offensive in Southern China Autumn 1942 was a complete failure. The attack was easily repulsed and it was quite clear that the frontline had become to too static to enable any breakthroughs.

Late 1942 the Axis Powers jointly forced the United Kingdom to give up. India was divided between Italy (Southern and Western) and Japan (Central and Eastern), Burma, Hong Kong and Malaysia was given to Japan and Sri Lanka to Germany. With southern and southeast Asia secured the Imperial Navy demanded offensive operations against the Allied bases of the Pacific islands that American ships and air units operated from. The US Air Force had troubled the Japanese fleets and in order to stop this a major invasion of the Philippines was launched.

The Philippines was annexed but a new danger rose in the West. The Soviet Union declared war on Persia and quickly advanced through the Iranian mountains threatening the Middle East and India. In the West the offensive was halted and repulsed by German and Italian forces but in Pakistan only a few poorly equipped Italian divisions stood between the Soviet Armies and the Indian subcontinent. Through strategic redeployment an Japanese army of Anti-Tank Infantry speedily reinforced the Italian lines in Pakistan and also that offensive, consisting of vast numbers of Mechanized Infantry, was repulsed.

With a parameter somewhat secured Japan in 1943 considered more offensive operations against the main enemy, the Soviet Union. Late summer Japanese forces including Imperial Marines and Special Mountain Forces invaded the west coast of Korea at Keijo and Heijo. The inital victories was followed by an advance to Genzan on the east coast cutting off Soviet divisions in Southern Korea.

No doubt the Red Army will make an effort retaking Korea but will on the mountainous peninsula the Japanese forces have an advantage. Another cloud in the sky for Japan is American threat. After the last few defeats the US forces have pulled back from immediate range of Japan but they still have the striking power and no one knows when they will strike.

It looks more impressive than it is. It is September '43 now and Axis armies outnumber me: 300 Axis divs vs. ~ 280 SU divs. Fortunately I caught up on land tech and seem to be the only one researching tanks.
But Germany alone has 135 planes, ~75 of them are bombers. I have exactly 1 plane, a transport plane. So whenever I move out of my prepared positions (a line 2 provinces deep with AA at least of 5) or have a stack smaller 12 divs my armies get bombed to pieces.
That's why I had some troubles in the middle east (at some point I made it to Suez) and Germany could get into the Caucasus. But I am doing a bit of research on airforce, and I am optimistic that the US will make a comeback before my frontline breaks in.

My IC is at 800, but I didn't get any CG reduction because I dowed Japan. But overall doing OK, Germany should be very low on MP after the most recent battles.

Well, with 800 IC and loads of resources (China...) you can take your time and then mass produce few aircrafts after you get a decent model (doesn't have to be turbojet initially :D). AA rockets and few air doctrines wouldn't hurt either (especially those that give bonuses to air attack)...

i kind of expected that when you told Hortlund you have a solution for German airpower (provincial AA)

You could be in trouble if Germany breaks through your AA line, though...

Hm, wouldn't be a desaster, I have build up a fall back line. But that's really deep inside SU, so I hope I don't have to rely on it. In addition 24 div stacks with 25% AA infantry mixed in turn out to be effective in the long run against bombers, e.g. they inflict more damage than they take.

The only problem are small stacks that get caught in the open. Trying to move out a 6 div infantry stack that is under constant air attack from 2*12 bombers is quite costly (we don't allow SR from or to frontline-provinces).

If think if Hortlund is ok with it, SU and US will raise the white flag. I had a look at German airforce tech - as things are now Germany will shoot any fighters we might build for the next 2 years immediately into pieces. That means SU + US won't be able to take the initative in the forseeable future.

Maybe we could merge the Comintern and Allies alliances to strenghten them? You will have an easier time counter the German air then.

Actually I must agree a lot of the excitement has disappeared, at least from the Italian perspective. After securing Persia and Turkey I have nothing much left to do but to prevent landings in low infra areas, which I ususally can contain on my own. If real problems would arise the Luftwaffe would be able to deal with the situation. It was a great campaign though! Good game by all involved!
