y'all missed the sarcasm in his 'murica post lol.

savoy should be a tier 3 in naples place imo....unless naples includes the kingdom of the two scilies(i have no idea when they were founded i just know the kingdom existed prior to the italian unification.....by sardinia-piedmont who isnt in tier 3 and was mostly alive during the period)

No Naples was a dependency of Aragorn until France took control of it and then it switched hands many time like i said is there a reason for Naples being in tier 3? It is ruled by a foreign nation throughout this period.

You missed the point of his post. He was commenting on your misspelling of Aragon as Aragorn, i.e. the character from 'The Lord of the Rings'. Not enough LotR nerds on the Paradox Forums? For shame...

As for the actual content of your post, it does seem odd for a nation controlled by others for the entire period to be tier 3. I know it was more important in the CK2 era, a little bit anyway, but I guess by 1444 it's glory days are over?

I wonder why Oman was included as on of the top 3 tier countries. Maybe for their part in the trade after the discovery of the Cape of Good Hope? It would be interesting to try to keep trade going through the Red Sea instead of bypassing the Muslim world.

USA is tier 4 , a nobody? OUTRAGEOUS!

This is what happens when you have Obama as President. If George was around, he would have already sent in the troops to capture Stockholm and liberate the Swedes from the evil Reinfeldt Government.

I'm thinking that the game ends before the American war of independence and that's why America isn't on there.

The latest confirmed start date is 1789:

Wow thats awesome. I wonder if you will be able to have the Barbary wars

From the screenshot there appears to be a Revolutionary France starting date in 1789, which probably means you should be able to play for at least until 1799, maybe later.

I would think it'd at least be until 1815. Since the last start date is the beginning of the Revolution, it makes sense that the game would go until the end.

Just wish to express how disappointed I am that Paradox have neglected Africa yet again.
What historical information can they really get about much of Africa? A really large part of sub-Saharan Africa only passed history down through oral tradition so historical evidence of events is really sparse, and playing as one doesn't really fit the theme of "Build a world spanning empire". Though I think it's absurd that the only tiered African nation on here is the Mamluks, Morocco should at least be tier 3.

States. And yes there were big empires in Africa, but is there enough information available to write fun events around them?

Probably. There are written sources from the period after all (Timbuktu anyone?). Just look at the wikipedia entry of Mali Empire - even based on such scarce article, devs could vastly improve West African gaming experience, if they wanted to...

Exactly, because what you want to do is the only limiting factor when you develop a game...

Yes, there is written evidence for Northern and Saharan Africa. But will you find tons of interesting events in some Congolese one province minor?
