I have been using the old EU2VIC converter and the NTL patch for Revolutions to play some wild and crazy games while on vacation. Its been fun, but I keep running into a problem that doesn't make sense.
I use the EU2VIC converter to convert my EU2 game to Victoria: Revolutions. No problems there, except for the usual strangeness on province, tech, and POP distribution. I then edit the scenario file to start on January 1st, 1820. I also have my victoria.exe patched with the NTL patch so that the game will actually start in 1820.
I fire up Revolutions and I see that every country in the game is in the middle of an election. The election set to end on November 2nd, 1835. It doesn't matter what the voting rights are, either. With no rights and a one party monarchy, I still get the election. I've scanned the scenario file, and there is nothing in it that says anything about November 2nd, 1835. Not elections or anything else.
I've tried setting the scenario's date to November 1st, 1835. The election fires based on your voting rights (which usually means that nothing happens, since I have no rights). I then save the game and rewind the clock back to 1820 in the save game file. I fire up Revolutions again and the election reappears.
So, what is going on? Has anyone ever seen this before? If so, what can I do about it?
