Please give us some sign that the patch is close! I had been waiting for half a year to play this game before release, checking for Vicky 2 updates a few times a week! I have played two or 3 games which i found very unsatisfactory due to issues i hope to be addressed in the new patch but I've heard no word for almost a week now and would love to at least know some of the contents of the patch so i can begin to think about playing again! For me the main bugs are...

-the laissez faire system which is completely useless.

-the bureaucrat culture bug which makes it impossible to colonize effectively.

-the "WAD" cheat that allows a player to become a very high rank by hitting the create leader button over and over.

-the rebels spawning over and over making it very tedious to play the game.

Does anyone know the status of these issues?

Its very important that they fix "germany" and the translation "deutschland", cause there was no "deutschland", we spoke from the "Deutsches Reich" till 1945, please fix it. The German Empire was founded in 1871, not Germany.

and had a "Kaiser" (Emperor?) as head of the state, not a simple "king"/"König".

But the German Kaiser was at the same time King of Prussia - also after 1871. So maybe the guy talking to you (i.e. creating the text messages) is some kind of ultra traditional old fashioned Prussian? Indeed he might be one of those "Prussian reactionaries"? I am confused...

I'd like to Annex provinces rather than whole states, also the option to buy and sell provinces to other nations would be good also.

agreed. selling provinces is also historically correct like the Louisiana and Alaska purchases.

I know its already been said to death but rebels are my biggest issue. im a bit too novice at the game so far to notice many of the technical issues but this just blatantly spoils my fun. I want to enact pacifying reforms but none of the parties let me do it.

other than that so far its a great game.

Wait until your population grows and you get tech that increases rebel organization and the stacks are 12k/18k/35k/66k You need doomstacks to clean them up, and when they are that big, they insta siege most provinces without forts. Good news is the rebel bug has been validated as a syntax issue and there is a fix right now. See the "Is this what is causing the rebel spam" thread.

As for dismiss leader, I would like to see the general traits, randomized a bit, be partly influenced by the literacy rate, and your combat experience. The attitude of the general is what it is, but his doctrine should not be fully random IMO. However, all but the worst generals still are better than no general at all. Even the -100% morale guys are good for cavalry siege teams following your main army's advance.

certainly this should be corrected
thanks

War score issue

I have played the game few times, but in the last game I saw a bug. I played as Sindh and fought UK in the late game. In one battle they had around 400 000 casualties and this victory alone was supposed to rise the war score with about 88%. There was also another battle, where UK lost about 250K soldiers and the war score was about 50%. When I open the "offer peace" window or check the war status in the diplomacy window you can see those numbers in the list, but they are not calculated. The score was about 24% - calculated from smaller battles, occupation and blockades.

I beleive there is a limit to what battles can do to effect the warscore.

IMO it would be better if the game used "monarch" in those contexts instead of "king".

Cant Paradox make it able to jump trough time instead of just starting at 1836? Can't you have like Europe Universalis 3 or Hearts of Iron 3?

It's an ego trip, so the game spoke to King whilst he was coding it. ;)

Your Majesty would certainly be a lot better, though.

I beleive there is a limit to what battles can do to effect the warscore.

But they dont put enough importance on capturing province. I played a unified Italy and went to war with a poor Austria. I captured almost all there Italian provinces and they did nothing to me. But the warscore was in there favor because they took provinces of another nation. I took many more provinces then they did, about three times it. Yet they still mark province capture as like .5 on the warscore. A province needs to be like 2-3 on a warscore. They need major improvment on the warscore side of gameplay.

The last one, there is apparently a one bracket fix that brings things in line, see the thread.

My biggest issue right now is POPs, POPs, POPs. Craftsmen have such huge demands that they can never hope to have them met. As a result clerks are hard to get. (The numbers are a design decision, not a bug, but I don't like them...)

Aristos grow too much, clergy too little, bureaucrats too much. The latter is the most exasperating as you have to keep dropping your slider but there are still more of the buggers. At least it's how you get clerks...

Anyway I agree with your issues, and your sentiment. I'm trying my best not to start pointless threads that will get locked, but the game is so fun yet also so broken, I want it so bad. Where is the patch?

Even within an order of magnitude would be nice to know. Is it going to be a day or two? a week or two? a month or two?

I'm going a little crazy, trying to tell myself to wait until the game is patched, but also starting new games with mods, etc. It's still a ton of fun, but I know it can be better. Don't burn yourself out fighting bugs, I try to tell myself.

Edit: Also, for the record, I care not one bit about naming/map/etc. issues. If the USA was referred to simply as American Empire and the head of state was God-Emperor, and all the states and rivers were messed up, I still wouldn't care. If CSA or Mexico always annexed the USA... then I might have a problem. But for names and map... I just don't mind.
