To all wondering why something "isn't included", keep in mind that:

The patch will obviously contain a lot more, but these are some headlines we think you'll like to see:

  • Improved AI handling of rebels.
  • The Diplomatic AI have gotten an overhaul and the AI is more likely to intervene, and also will form alliances with other GP's.
  • Mid and endgame economy have been tweaked, and the capitalists should understand more what is profitable or not.

More news to come, like the date of the release and more fixes of course.

Provided Nice Icons

Actually, I realized the .ico files are embedded in the .exe (they had to be somewhere in the first place ;) I figured), so if I select the exe as my icon, I can choose from there using the change icon function. Thank you kindly though, those would have helped otherwise! :)

I dont know if it was been posted, since i have only demo and no access to bug forums but what i found:

1. At diplomacy screen when i hoover mouse over soi priorities, when i have been discredited i got like -50% eff, but it actually adds and not substracts, so if i had like 0.6 per day incrase after im discredited i get 0.72 or so. I dont know if its only tooltip problem.

2. I allied with denmark and asked for military access and they agreed. Then why i cant go thru their satelites also? And i cant ask them about access because they say: go and ask my master. There is no such option and it really should be, if not option then make by default so if i can go thru master territory i can go also thru its satellite

3. I have strange problem with my furniture factory, luxury chair price is max, there is high demand for it on the world market like 5 produced and 15 demand, i need chairs in my country also but factory is loosing money and when i hoover over factory i get message that i sold like 0.01 out of 0.1 produced and its like that everyday. I was trying to manually buy to my national stockpile but then i bought of off the market and factory is loosing money all the time. All my other factories work okay nad make profit. I dont know what is wrong with this one. And if they not sell something, then where it is going? To my stockpile? Maybe i didnt noticed that because its rounded value there ...

Another reason why I crave for simple yet effective logistical constraints. Warfare without logistics is like music without sound.
Logistics on land in this period is quite well represented in abstract form (support limit), but I think there is an issue with sea travel. When travelling long distances without landfall, the ships take attrition damage - but their passengers don't seem to. Attrition from a several-month voyage on full troopships should be crippling. It should be possible to control it by either making frequent landfalls or having the ships only a fraction full (the rest being assumed full of supplies).

It could be tied to the state's status. Troops recruited from colonies are weaker than those produced by full states.
Colonial troops were frequently of good quality, as someone else already said. I think a good alternative might be to have Soldier POPs get MIL/CON gains if the brigade is far from home, reduced in impact if the POP has high literacy and/or pluralism. Basically, if it's a big, alien, mysterious and 'foreign' world out there, being far from home is a big deal - hence why colonial troops were not commonly used far outside the colonies until around WW1.

What I would like to see in the upcoming patch is a reduction of the AI aggressiveness.

I started a game as Prussia and formed the North German Federation and the German Empire in less then 20 years. But since I annexed Elsaß-Lothringen I'm caught in an endless number of defensive wars with France. France's military score is 20 points higher than mine which seems to be the reason why they attack every time the truce after the last war is over. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much I can do about my opponents military score except conquering more of his land which will raise my bad boy rating. Unfortunately that means I'm totally occupied dealing with France instead of following my own strategy to expand my country since I need to save infamy scores for France now.

Suggestions:
1. One suggestion in solving this problem would be that instead of getting 0 infamy for the casus belli of regaining former territory you could get "20-x" infamy where "x" is the number of years since the last war against the new owner.
2. Since the difference in military score seems to be a relevant point for the AI in deciding whether to go to war or not the opponent's score could be modified by a simple formular like this "sa=ms*25/x". "sa" would be the military score referred to by AI; "ms" would be military score and "x" number of years since last war against opponent.

Ask Krakow. :D

In terms of gameplay mechanics... For a country with only 1 province, there really aren't any gameplay mechanics. With only a single province, you're not really meant to be conquering anybody. It's more a test of your survival skills. Since Iceland didn't exist during this time frame, and Krakow didn't last long, I'd say you're not even meant to survive.

No, Iceland exists as a Dominion of Denmark as of 1 Dec 1918.

This is not true. People keep assuming that because the current offical Republic of Iceland did not come to exist before 1944 that also means that the Icelandic people did not exist earlier but this is not true. The first Icelandic nation was founded in 930 and since then we have lost and gained our freedom a number of times, our declaration of independence in 1944 is merely the most recent case. And to address your second point, we did survive for a few centuries on our own before we were forced into a union with Norway did we not? ;)

I'd like to Annex provinces rather than whole states, also the option to buy and sell provinces to other nations would be good also.

Also the ability to do reforms more easily like every new parlinment, because so far only on liberals can you change voting system ect. I want to be able to change pensions, wages, health ect.

Finally the ability to recruit armies in 1000s rather than 3000s, and the ability to choose your own accepted culture would be good too.

I totally agree! :D

The game is still fun regardless, and community fixes can tide us until a polished patch is released... Which brings the next question. Any possibiilty of getting the Mod folder working in the next patch?
^ Can someone answer this question please? There are mods waiting for the mod dir to be fixed. :eek:o

Please, please fix the (terrible) English.

Hey! Dont be so selfish! At least you get like 95% correct text. Germans get like 80% text, where it fits, and 250% where it doesnt. Both correct and incorrect.

Maybe it would be a good idea, to have indicators at the various string variables, as to how long they can be as a maximum, and have the translator be able to see those, during his/her work.

Also, you partially seem to have realized, that the german translation would be a tad more PC, if military leaders aren´t ´Führer´s, but ´Anführer´s, instead. The tooltip for leadership-points indicates that. Albeit the auto-generation-buttons still have ´Führer´s generated and assigned automatically. Kind of scary, if you ask me... :D
