Obviously this is spoilers for the new event chain avoid them if you want to experience them for yourself first.

First there was Daniel - https://twitter.com/Pdx_Da9L/status/767460434156916740 last sunday night. Edit that's the end event for the chain.

Then last night amelie012 on Twitch also triggered the first event to start to look for eternal life.

I thought that would be the end of it until just now when Emnell also on Twitch also received the event.

I asked him he was 3 hours in on a fresh character.

I don't mean to jump to conclusions, and it is not usually wise to do so before release.

But it seems to be triggering perhaps more often and perhaps earlier than was intended.

Perhaps it is intended to trigger sooner, but I thought this was going to be like the other events. Once happening on a MTTH at anytime over hundreds of years.

It reminds me of the demon spawn event or whatever pulse the demon spawn event triggers. The demon event used to very balancedly appear at any time in a dynasties century long life. But then I swear something changed and it started to appear very early.

At least twice it appeared really early in playthroughs. That's what this feels like a major event on like a larger pulse but instead of pulsing later, it just tees it up right away.

Maybe it needs a bit more randomness to it.

If there's an event to literally make a major mechanic of the game worthless (death) shouldn't it be super rare so it only shows up in a handful of games? OR if you're very proud of this event chain just make it end in failure for most games. That's a MTTH over 1500 years I think.

I think the event should fire a lot...But...Getting immortality should be laughable unlikely(One should have a higher chance of getting a bonuses more often that isn't being immortal)

So how does it work? Do you just summon the council and wait, or is there a long event chain, with multiple options to branch out?

I'm almost certain that its the latter.

And I don't really see an issue with this event chain, even if its somewhat common. Its player only and there's a blatantly clear option to abort the chain in the first event.

Is the event tied to the outbreak of the Black Death? Because then it would make sort of sense for those with previews to get the event more often, as their save game provided to them was set up to have the plague start immediately.

pretty sure its not player only, I mean there is an achievement for killing an immortal character so I think the AI can get it

It is player only. The achievement is for killing a character generated in the event.

It's not impossible that the event is more likely to fire in pre-release versions cuz those people serve as a form of advertising and it's fun and interesting. But it might also be firing too easy. I dunno if they adjusted the demonspawn after release but if immortality is in line with that I'd be pretty happy.
