It doesn't matter if they think the game is a train wreck "for everyone." What matters is the people who think it is a train wreck. If you think the game isn't a train wreck, then go play it and stop posting.

As an aside, Johan was gloating about EU4's sales figures and how that justified the direction they've chosen for the franchise. I'm curious about the sales figures of CoP.
Lets have no more disputes about 'vocal minorities'. Everyone should be free to express their opinion and disagree with others, but enough with the generalisations.
I was just taking a fun jab at the OP. The fact of the matter is that not a single person in this thread has any idea who is in a majority/minority on any given topic, so using it as a method to diminish conflicting opinions is ridiculous.

Frankly, I've had fun with each beta through 1.4 as well and it baffles me seeing people complain about having to 're-learn' the game each time it gets patched. There are a bunch of people who are unhappy with changes, and I can respect that. We all have different tastes, and as far as gaming communities go, the EUIV(and indeed, most Paradox games) communities tend to be much more literate and polite about their grievances than, say, the 13 year olds over on the forums for Call of Duty who are as likely to question your sexuality and make disparaging comments about your mother as to point out legitimate problems with a game.
So here's to Paradox for a great game, and for the community for not being infuriating, even when we disagree with them.

1.4 was way too easy for me really love the direction of 1.5 also makes my multiplayer sessions much more fun and satisfying.
I think the Interface upgrades have been oddly overlooked as the surprise bonus of this update. It's much easier to see army compositions, generals and I can finally tell the game to stop bugging me about specific decisions. Its things like this that can significantly improve the game without all the arguments that core gameplay changes bring. Thanks.
The only thing EU4 sales figure show is that CK2 was an extremely popular game and that the save game converter was a brilliant marketing tool.
PDS didn't expect CK2 to be a huge success (and they have said that) because they didn't understand the current trend in roguelikes and emergent story telling, both of which CK2 fits in to perfectly. EU4 does not, but nobody who played CK2 knew that before they bought it.
Well im glad I bought EUIV, and there was a demo, so I guess many people tried out that one first, and they wouldn't have bought the game if they didn't like it.
There is demo, Dev Diares, many videos, AAR's and other source of info. Consumer with brain on proper place, can check what kind of game is , or is not before buying.
Anyway I'm happy to see more challenge for player, AE and coalitions have more sense now. So no more "Tibet, Ryuku or Altmark conquer world" threads

Thank you for new patches that completely destroy established player strategies every time. Every patch makes the game a new experience that we need to figure out from ground zero, and I really feel like I'm getting my worth of money. All hurray for your honorable efforts to ever keep the game from getting sterile and repetitive, as your patches provide an endless game of cat and mouse and we can certainly look forward to the future, that by the time we learn to adjust to this new patch, you'll screw us all over again.
